Uncanny X-Art?

Jeff Matsuda=1  German Garcia=2

John Byrne=1  Joe Madueria=1

Marc Silvestri=1  Humberto Ramos=1

The Basic Concept:

With rumors circulating that Chris Bachalo is going to become the dearly departed X-Artist (*sniff*), we're wondering who you'd like to see take over the reins of Uncanny X-Men. Don't feel limited to the people currently available, though Peterson and Yu are indeed good choices, but rather choose your absolute dream X-Men art team.

Are you a Kirby-holic? Maybe a Lee-acolyte? A Mad in training? What about John Byrne? Good ol'Silvestri too! Bachalo your piece of cake? Mr. Romita Jr? Dave Cockrum gave us Nightcrawler! How about newcomer German Garcia? Have you seen Andy Kubert's stuff recently? Wow! Or maybe you go for the classic look of Paul Smith? Tell us what you think!

The Rants and Raves:

Who's your favorite X-Men artist? Who'd you like to see get a chance to show his (no women artists on X-Men yet?) stuff?

Greetings... One of my favourite artists has always been John Byrne. I find that his art had a realistic look to it that suited the X-men and the topics handled in the series whereas others artists tend to be over the top. Why not team him up with Chris Claremont and reunite the team that brought us some of the best X-titles. To be honest, I am not impressed with a lot of the recent work.    - Unbeliever
Well I don't know...Having Joe Mad back would be cool..but quite frankly some of the stuff he's putting out in Battle Chasers doesn't even compare to his Uncanny stuff. I guess Jeff Matsuda is another..his stuff rocks even though sometimes a bit distorted. Humberto Ramos is another whocould do well although he seems to draw teens better. Maybe German Garcia...there was a certain quality about his work that I liked...can't place it though. But I really Like Bachelo's stuff is cool.   -Morph
I like German Garc’a's art. He's new, but I like his take on things and his style. He has great potential, but if he can't be on X-Men I'll just read whatever else he does. He impresed me that much.    -ShockWave
Call it nostalgia, but Marc Silvestri will always be my favorite X-Men artist. Although I definetly prefered his earlier work on the title (sketchy works for me I guess) I'm addicted to it all. His Rogue, in particular, has such a different quality to her (a quality, I'll note, that has apparently been lost forever) and a uniqueness that's great to see. Also he designed some great costumes (noteably the Psylocke cloak and armor getup). Humor was also something he could bring to the book when it was called for. I'd really like to see what he could do with the characters today.    -Silver
