DANIELLE MOFFAT
Star-struck Dreamer
When time whispered through
Space
And cut the universe into pieces
The stars were created.
I raise my head to them
Unlike the others -
Who in timid
Humility -
bow theirs to
Pay homage,
And I ask them questions.
I whisper to them
In the close, awakening
Nights of Arcadia
Where the steam still rises
To kiss me
Like a message from the
Dying sun.
I wish you would know
How they answer me
When I dream.
Never failing they
Bring life to me and
So many of those sought
After
Answers.
And now I sing to them -
To lull them to sleep
And wait for Mother Nature
With her tea leaves.
I wish you would know
How they answer me,
When I dream.
The future lies awake still
And breathes the morrow.
The stars cut from the
Rough diamonds of
Her hand show me
Their dreams
And all the possibilities of the
World that lie in them.
