Donna Doss on 'Giving the Gift of Life - become an organ and tissue donor." According to Donna, over 3000 people die each year from lack of an available transplant. Organ donors can change that statistic. Donors give 50 other people life with their heart, lungs, pancreas, heart value, eyes, bone and skin tissue. Not all donations need to wait until death. People can donate bone marrow and kidneys while alive and active. The cost is never the responsibility of the donor family, it is carried by the recipients insurance firm. Donors are identified by a red sticker attached to their drivers license.
