Most of us know how frustrating a job search can be. It has been three months since I started looking for a job. I think I did everything. I was telling my friends and even people who I barely knew that I need a job. I applied for at least ten, sometimes thirty positions every day on the Internet. I posted my resume on web sites such as Careerbuilder and Craigslist. I sent my resume to temporary agencies such as Searchright and Aerotek. I called companies and asked if I could get an internship there. I think all these people just know my name by heart now. I even did all my homework for the career development class. However, it just looked like nothing worked! It was so frustrating! But two weeks ago, I got my first call! I was so excited and scared at the same time that I forgot everything that Tom had taught me in career development class. The lady who called asked me so many questions about my experience and salary rate. I did awful. She never called me again. Nevertheless, the next day I got another call from a different company. This time I did much better, because practice makes you better. I got my very first interview, then another. Because of career development class, I was prepared for all these questions. A couple of days later, they called me to accept the job. It looks like Im going to start after the holidays. I do not know what exactly works when you looking for job. I think it is everything all together. Here are my interview tips. Go for all the interviews you get, and practice answering them with your relatives, friends, or just with a mirror. It gives you confidence and prepares you for the one really important interview. In conclusion, keep a positive attitude, do your best, and never give up!
