I really enjoyed elementary school. I stayed on the "B" honor roll and I was always happy. I had a love of singing and became involved with the school choir. I was very active in Girl Scouts and accomplished many goals with my troop. I was in the first fifth grade class to graduate from elementary school when our school district changed to a middle school program.

Middle school proved to be a challenge but I adjusted very quickly. I maintained a "B" average throughout my years there. I was part of the first sixth grade class to be at the middle school. It was also the first year our school district adopted a year round program. I loved being part of the school choir and was also on the track team and swim team. I was a football and basketball cheerleader during my seventh and eighth grade years. I also loved being in Publications. We put together the yearbook and newsletters for our school.

I am now at the high school and I love it! I've made a lot of new friends. I'm still maintaining a "B" average on my report card. I have been very active in the School Improvement Council and Principal's Advisory Council. As a group we have researched and reported on the application of a block schedule at our school. I am still very active in the school choir and would like to become active in track again during the next school year. I also completed a Girl Scout Silver Award Project this year with my troop. We held a food drive for our local food pantry that will benefit many local families. I have enjoyed attending the school dances, they are a lot of fun.

This is me now, ready to enter the tenth grade. I look forward to a more involved year. My goals for this school year are to become more involved in athletics, developing my singing ability more, and to better my grade average. I am anxious to be enrolling in driver's education this year also.

I have settled in to 10th grade at the high school comfortably now. I am still maintaining a "B" average and everything is going well. I have made a lot of new friends and I'm still singing in the choir. Driver's Ed was exciting and I'm looking forward to getting my license! Although my mom is a nervous wreck!

In the spring I was asked by a teacher if I would like to go to the prom with a senior. She told me that Gary "Boomer" has muscular dystrophy and was very fortunate to have made it to his senior year. She said that he really wanted to go to the prom but not by himself. When I met Gary I didn't hesitate for one second to agree to attend the 1999 Junior/Senior Prom with him. He is such a wonderful person...a great personality, great sense of humor and a beautiful smile. I enjoyed every minute of the evening with him. I'll always treasure the memories and I am so fortunate to have met such a terrific guy!

Wow! I can't believe I'm a Junior already! I have taken on a very heavy class schedule this year in hopes that I may achieve an Academic Honors Diploma. With the heavy class load I haven't felt comfortable taking on the time commitments of sports but I'm still very active in choir. I now have my driver's license...YIPPEE!! I decided to attend the Prom this year alone so that I could enjoy everyone's company. It was a fantastic evening! I'm looking forward to my senior year with excitement and anticipation but also with a little fear...my future is coming so fast!

My mom and dad bought me a car at the end of the school year! Wow!! I've been accepted into the S.E.T. program next year. It is an exploratory teaching program for seniors interested in going into the teaching field. I now have a car to get myself to the schools that I will be assigned to!

My Aunt Karen sent me a keychain with a saying that I take to heart!
