James and Daisy McLean

James (Jim) McLean had a wide range of life experiences, mainly within the Echuca area. His occupations included droving, farm hand, fencing, shop assistant, Jim eventually took over his father's Marine Dealers business in Echuca and developed into a prosperous regional business with sub-agencies in regional towns such as Gunbower, Nathalia, Numurkah, Kyabram, Tongala and Rochester. Prior to WWII he was a member of the 17th Light Horse Regiment and at the outbreak of hostilities quickly joined the AIF where he served in Egypt, Palestine and other European zones.
