This is a family photo of Medford Grigsby Bastin, with his first wife, Myrtie Wren (Smith) Bastin. Medford was born in Metcalfe County, KY, and was the son of Joseph Henry and Sarah Parish (Turner) Bastin. Medford married Myrtie Wren Smith on 21 Nov 1900. Myrtie was born 17 Mar 1883 in Metcalfe County, KY and died on 18 May 1931 in Green County, KY at the age of 48. After Myrtie's death, Medford married Minnie Davis. Medford died in Hart County, KY on 12 June 1968.
Medford was a Great Great Grandson of Thomas and Hannah Bastin of Caswell County, NC. Joseph Henry Bastin was a brother of William M. Bastin , and Richard Emory Bastin. The parents of "Henry", "Bill" and "Dick Emory" were Thomas and Louanna (Shofner) Bastin . Myrtie was a daughter of David Walker and Katherine (Hardy) Smith .
