Customized Diecast VWs
|
This one gets its name from the way the paint scheme has been done--red marble basecoat with flames "breaking away" from underneath! Here are more views of the rear or the driver's side or the inside. You can e-mail Paul here. |
|
This red-white-and-blue splatter paint style car is certainly an eye catcher in-the-making. Work is still in progress, also. More angles of it are available on the driver's side or at the rear or at the front. Please e-mail Eric and let him know your thoughts! |

This is a donation from John Hetzel for the family of John Brecka who passed away February 12, 2000. Nice, basic custom with a satin-type paint finish. |
This is also a donation by Mr. Hetzel to help raise money for the family of John Brecka. Lowered stance and nice JL 5-spokes! Also, John provided a view of the rear. |
|
A Jekyl-and-Hyde sort of pair. Well-done. Credit for providing the creator to ROM goes to JRM797@aol.com! |
Very nice showing from these fellows. It's green and the Bug body sits on a top-fuel dragster body. They can be e-mailed at tlsjls@dstream.net. You can also see a photo of the front-end and the back-end. |
|
JP took the Bus and chopped the top, lowered it and gave it a great graphics treatment that enhances that beautiful base-color! |
Very nice piece to accompany the Johnny Lightning-based Bus also done by JP. Be sure to also view the photo of
the body-off-the-chassis! |
Also, don't miss this rear-end shot! Thanks Mzungu! |
|
The crisp lines and nary a venture over the neighboring color make this one a stand-out as far as expertise in masking and painting. Wish I could do this well! Some more views are HERE and HERE. The creator can be e-mailed here. |
This is the first custom that has a REMOVEABLE decklid! A sacrifice 2nd car provided it. Nice, unique touch. Please e-mail e.nani about this custom. |

This features a newer favorite paint scheme for Kraz, with its rainbow effect going from front-to-back! |
This is probably one of Kraz' best pieces. It features blue-fade-to-black paint with a checkered pattern ripping through! More views of it are seen here and here! |
Kraz took the unaltered Bus casting and added a distinctive paint job, resembling a scallops-meets-flames look. It's a must see! Please e-mail Kraz to let him know your appreciation of his work! |
This one is blue with headlight/taillight detailing. The real kicker is the hand-done mural on each side of a setting sun, complete with waves. Be sure to see it for yourself! |
Night's Customs has used the expensive flip-flop paint by DuPont® along with yellow base paint that seems to be cracking away. The smiley face just adds to the playfulness of the piece. Good job! |
While not a VW Bus, I couldn't help but include it among the Customized VWs Pages because of its obvious graphics influence. |
This one is courtesy of King of the Road Antiques! The Krugerand is a gold coin from South Africa. The Bus' 24K paint job with custom card in protective box comes with a real 22K 1/10 oz gold Krugerand. Very unique and desireable. |
He has gone all-out on making this a perfectly matched set of racing equipment! Another photo of the accompanying Bus is seen here. Carlos provided another photo of the Bug and hauler here. Nice bodywork on that Bug and flatbed hauler! |
Lineup provided more photos here and this one of the rear. Lineup's page of super-rare cars is available at this link! |
It features a custom BP that can be seen here. To see the BP/Bus from the other side, just CLICK HERE! Great execution to the last few touches. Let the creator know YOUR thoughts! |

A very unique-looking piece, using some chassis from Hot Wheels'® lowrider cars! Beautiful execution. Please e-mail the creator. |
Same creator as the Bus to the left, but this one has a little extra--it's been modified into a pickup truck! Another stunning overall appearance here. |
It's got a dark blue base with vertically-painted yellow & white-shadowed scallops. Check-out the top-side, revealing the interior-dominating engine and this rear-end view! Shweet diorama sets the mood. |
Talk about all-out customs! This is a definite stand-out, one-off piece that ANYONE with a pulse and aircooled blood would want to drool over. Absolutely beautiful finishing on the wood and joints. More photos of this wonder-carved Bus are available showing the top, showing the bottom and showing more of the exterior. |
Maniac Mike outdid himself on this one! He took the Matchbox Bus casting, and removed the middle of the roof section to create this crew cab. Check-out the real-wood bed, the front-end and the driver's side with boards! It's one of the first, folks! |
Pleasing color-combo of tangerine and off-white, along with some RC wheels. Detailed to the max and rolls well. |
Maniac Mike lowered it slightly and added lace wheels. Not to mention the special-mix light gold-green paint! Another view of the rear is here. |
Maniac Mike took the green Bug to the left and turned it up a notch. He added PCs and some ghost flames. Another couple of photos show the driver's side and the rear. |
This is a beautiful shade of purple and has a boot for the top, along with the lowriding stance thanks to those 5-star rims! Here's another view |
Maniac Mike took and old pull-back action car and made it the gold-colored dragstrip-ripper you see here. Also, check it out from the side. |
It has detailing like removed doorhandles/headlights and even a custom windshield! Unique looker definitely, folks. Here is a rear view. Please e-mail Maniac Mike. |

Slaters took a beater Beach Bomb and smoothed the rear, modified the windows, and made it the size of a dragster chassis. Nicely-done blue paint job, too! |
Slaters took the Bug, added some fading flames and RRs, and made this classic rod of a VW! |
Classic Slaters flames. Please take a quick click on this slammed looker. |
Real Riders® and black-with-flames paint. Nothing is more classic a combination. |
Nicely done flames, seen for the first time on a custom of this scale. |
Awesome version of the regualr VW Bus Hot Wheels® casting, made into a funny car. Not obvious to the untrained eye. Compliments to the chef! |
Thanks for this two-tone sleeper. That stinger exhaust gives away the power that could be silently lurking under that decklid. Here's another view of the car provided by Nikaido! |
Nikaido went all-out on opening this baby up to the wind. You can see the care taken in crafting those windows in: this fully-open shot, this rear shot, this chassis photo, or http://www.oocities.org/brendarambach/nikaidotop.jpg">the top-side. |
He added shadows to the flames to emphasis that overlapping flame look. Metallic base coat adds an extra bit of flashyness to the whole scheme. E-mail Wild Customs here. More angles of it are here, here and here! |
Latching-on to that summer/fall/winter 1999 craze, here is tin-knocker's meticulously painted Pokemon Bus. It fetched a price any Pikachu would envy, once he set it up to sell. Another angle of it is here. |
More angles of it are HERE and HERE. Yes, folks there is an actual Bus in that monster of a front-hinged tank. The turret swivels, too! |
An extremely unique and innovative custom based on a snake theme. It hinges at the middle, to allow the front to open like a snake's mouth. A top-drawer paint job finishes it off, too! The creator can be e-mailed here |
Obviously inspired by the Spectraflame® colors of the original cars, this one looks good enough to fit right alongside that Custom Corvette or Firebird! Please e-mail the creator with praise! |
Painted to look like how it might appear if made in 1968, those wheels and the flawless paint job really make it an eye-catcher! |
It looks well-done from the multi-colored flame graphics to its headlight detailing, even the RC 5-spokes up front! Check it out opened-up also! You can
e-mail Visions Unlimited here! |
This one is inspired by a comic book figure, Lady Death, and is beautifully executed! Take more gazes of the side of it and the book it comes with! Please e-mail its creator. |
Wild, complicated graphics inspired by, as the name says, the Space Shuttle's re-entry into the Earth's atmosphere. Definitely take notes, folks! E-mail Geoff's Toys here. |
Good to see even Maisto providing a little customization inspiration. It is the only VW Bus casting to have the permanent "pop-top" look to it. Those Hot Wheels® 3-spokes make it almost pass for authentic Mattel material! Here is the rear. You can e-mail Toy Master here. |
This is one super-custom chop top! Here's a rear view, also. |
Excellent finish on applying the paint! Don't miss the top and back photos as well! Please e-mail the creator to give him your thoughts on this confederate custom. |
