Customized Diecast VWs
|
The BEST by far to have emerged from the hobby house of Big Nazzty. Ya gotta see to get inspired...Check-out other shots of the engine mods, the rear-end, the body off the chassis, and a side-by-side comparo to the white CD-Rom Bus, to emphasize the customizations done. You can reach Big Nazzty here! |

WWKustoms is breaking onto the customized VWs scene with a barrage of mild customs that have a seamless execution. This short bus is just one example. WWKustoms also provided this side shot. Please send greetings and shouts of encouragement to WWKustoms (aka Wil--with one "L"--and William) at this e-mail address. |
They took a VW Bug Hot Wheels® casting and a Concept 1 Matchbox® casting and, like Aunt Fannie after Thanksgiving dinner, added a few inches to their size. The Concept 1 is painted purple while the VW Bug casting is painted pink. Individual photos are listed as follows: the pink Bug limo and the purple Concept 1. Nice, seamless customs once again WW Kustoms! |
WWKustoms had a crazy idea to take a Hypermite® engine and cram it into the engine bay of the VW Bug! This very well-done modification is a great execution of a determined customizer's imagination. Kind of falls along the lines of a CarToons-style rendering (remember that 'zine from the 80s? |
With the name referring more to how tubbed-out this thing is rather than engine choice, a fairly popular theme of shortened wheelbases appears here and is again: flawless. Another, side-view is available here! Thanks again for your mild-custom contributions! |
Simple, but still a nice one. See a couple of other photos HERE and HERE |
Very well-done. Clean graphics and a fitting paint scheme. Bet the Batman fans are chomping at the bit to get their hands on this one! |
|
|
This is a beautifully-done picture on top of the Bus and some further artwork on the Blast Lane® to complete the set! Just to prove it, see the trophy. Well deserved. |
So you think it's simple, try copying this custom! To help, see this side view. Nice-looking and deceptively simple in appearance. |
Very well executed. That sneaky magenta changes colors, according to its creator and can only be appreciated in-person. More spectacular views: the chassis from a couple of Hot Wheels® dragsters), front-end, the top-side look, and the side-view. |
Milkman's Streeeeeetched MB Bus!Milkman has also contributed to the stretching of the MB Bus with his school-bus yellow piece. Also, don't miss the photos of the front-end of the body and the body sitting beside the chassis. Sorry the links are not available right now. If you know where I can get photos of this bad boy, please e-mail RPM ASAP. |
Excellent fit-and-finish on this job. It looks so flawless that you'd swear it was made by MM themselves. Check out Smurph's Kustoms.com! |
Another star from the workbench of Smurph's Kustoms. Some more photos are provided of: the rear-end and the body opened-up. |
|
Very nice execution and wheel choice. This is one of the customizers' favorite combination of cars. |
|
One of the best-done customs of the Surfcrate®, then you look at what's haulng it around... Wheels donated by JL "Frightnin' Lightnings" and a few other cars used for parts. You can contact Red here! |
It features a highly modified Bus with the detailing you've come to expect from customizers of V-Man's caliber. Please also see this additional pose provided by V-Man! |
|
|
View the other side of it. ScaryMr1 really hit a home run on this wild mixture of parts. Click to see because a description would take forever. |
Hotrodical has done an outstanding job on these two. See also this rear shot, the body-off-chassis and a final photo. That Bug alone is a definite centerpiece, then to have that Bus hauler!! You can e-mail Hotrodical here. |

|
Expertly done, down to the flawless pinstriping. The surfboard adds a nice HW Beach Bombish flavor to it. The novice collector probably would not even notice this was a full custom. Another couple of photos can be found of: the rear-end and the front-end |
This one is courtesy of 1BDCUSTOMZ. Check-out that wicked white/gold-splattered paint with RC 5-spokes! |
Nice color-matching set with custom display box! Sharp light green color and RC 5-spokes top it off. |
|
Beautifully-done version of the Bill Elliott NASCAR entry for the 2000 racing season. It is almost overshadowed by that cleverly-done display that is an actual McD french fry container with a light inside! Please e-mail Goobs here. |
It has a red base coat with the world-renowned "Hot Wheels®" flame. The black wheels add the extra racing touch! Another view is here. The creator can be e-mailed @ this address. |
|
One of those rare times you'll see this casting customized, which makes it even more desireable. Those shiny RC wheels help, too. |
He undertook a tough task and performed some mods to this Type II casting. RC wheels are again the shoes on this one. |
Simple design on this custom, with a can't-lose theme of the Herbie graphics! |
He took the Hot Wheels® Bug body and added the chassis from a dragster by that company famous for their quality and craftsmanship. Makes for a killer looker. |
|
Very clean lines and a match made in heaven. Who else pictured this marriage when the Fiat 500 first came out? Here's another view of this custom. Please e-mail C Haupt here! |
TerryL once again does a perfect job of mating two otherwise different castings together. This pavement-destroying Frankenstein car is made up of half Hypermite® and half VW Bug. It's 100% Hot Wheels® and 100% cool. You can see the back end of it here. |
One of the first to emerge with this match made in heaven. One of the finer examples is a click away! |
Using the Fiat's engine and a '32 Ford's grill gave us this classic-lined custom. Rubber wheels from JL combine to make another hit. Try this other view. |
Very well-done combo using the regular VW Bug casting for the top 1/2 and the Baja Bug for the lower 1/2. Hard to tell it didn't come that way! |
Terry L's next showcase car involves a classic theme of combining the Firebird funnycar back end with the Bug casting. A can't-lose car by anyone's standards. Next step....paint! |
TerryL continues the tradition that made him famous with the Way-2-Buggy, and has a new agenda for cranking-out beauts like this Hammered Coupe®-meets-Bug purple rod. Keep those combos a-coming. |
Very nice work and seamless marriage of the vulture with the VW Bug casting to create this speed machine. Check out the back end of it as well! You can e-mail Terry L to learn more about these and some of his other customs here. |
The back comes courtesy of a '57 Chevy and the back seat forward is all VW Bug. It's a good fantasy car that shows what would happen if the VW Bug joined the trend of 50s fins! Well-done, TerryL! |
Very attractive-looking custom paint job made up of a skull pattern. A lot of man-hours went into that perfect shine! |
Another nice paint job to go right alongside the skull paint job to the left. Thanks for these wonderful customs Terry L! |
Bob also provided a great photo of the back of his Bus as well. Please let Bob know how great and honorable a job he did at showing his appreciation for the sacrifice of our firefighters on September 11, 2001 by e-mailing him here. Actually, Bob's e-mail address has since expired and if you know how to reach him, please have him send me a note or provide it to me yourself. Thanks! |
A great addition to the 1:64 scale FDNY tribute Bus profiled to the left! Thank you for your efforts in showing our brave men and women your appreciation in such a creative manner, Bob! |
Also, here's another angle provided by the artist! The creator can be e-mailed here. |
Keith is the newest member of the customized VWs pages ranks and has come out swinging with a batch of conservatively cool customs! Yet another hot-engined car that borrowed a little (yeah, isn't that an understatement!) horsepower from the Hypermite®. Very nicely done. Sorry, folks, no rear photo is available. I'd sure hate to look in the rear-view mirror and see this bearing down on me. |
Nice over-sized chrome wheels and elaborate surfrack! You can contact Keith by e-mailing him here. |
Up there with the surf-rod idea, Herbie® is always a good theme to draw inspiration and fun from when making a custom. The white-walled, white-rimmed wheels are a cool touch Keith added to make his own statement. |
A great way to display some of the collection of customized VWs you have! Why not a customized ramp truck tot make the other collectors even MORE jealous? Nice detailing on this one, with the decals. |
KBKreations' Coral Bus And Green Bus Customs!Yet again some recently popular customized VWs design themes. Good choice of colors for the eye-catching look most well-done customs deserve. We hope to see many more from you, Keith! Keep up the great work.
|
One of those subtle customs that looks good enough to come straight from Hot Wheels ® themselves! |
We've seen this woodie surfwagon theme before, with Carl Kwasnjuk's Wavemaster Custom. You can never have enough haulers for those surfboards. The VW theme is a welcome bonus, at that! Nice job, Keith. |
Straight from the creator himself: "This is my latest "kreation". I stretched a Bug body to fit the Tire Fryer® chassis, hinged it at the back and I'm off to the races!!! My next project is the "Stub Bug" which will result from the VW that gave up its mid-section to stretch the "Drag Bug"." Excellent execution, even down to the Empi® sticker on the roof! You can also see the front 3/4 view |
KBKreations' Stub Bug!...coming soon... |
You can visit Bad @$$ Diecast's eBay store to check-out these and many, many more customs that focus on Marvel comic characters. Very nice theme customs!
 |
The graphics are out-of-this world in their detail. Very well done with just the right size given to the Batman signal on the top of the Bus.
