Customized Diecast VWs
Paul Morra's Surfboarded Woodie-Style Bus Truck! This surfer's dream comes from Paul (aka "Qwik"). It features simulated wood grain and matching boards. Another photo of this beach Bus is HERE. Paul Morra's "Mini Veeee"! This shortened VW Bus is just plain trick! A bunch of add'l photos show the front 3/4 view and the front-end, more head on and its chassis detailing and, finally, the topside's flames. To see just how short it is, see this side-by-side shot with the white CD-Rom Bus!
Paul Morra's Jewel-eyed Blown Bug! Another view of it is here. It has subtle customizations, like the pink-to-purple fade paint and the front-engine motor blasting from under the hood. Check-out those jeweled headlights, too!	Paul Morra's "U.S.A. Bus"! It has a red/white stripe at the rear and a blue/white-starred pattern up front, with detailing throughout, even on the chassis!
Paul Morra's Flamin' Rock Bus! There are multiple layers of work here from the flames to the intricate rock-like body paint. Quite unique! Please e-mail the creator.	Sal's In-The-Weeds Bug! The miles-deep multi-color paint and the choice of Corvette wheels make this one a stand-out piece, VW fan or not!
Visions Unlimiteds' Inferno Bus! Here is another angle.	Visions Unlimiteds' Inferno Bug! Fade-color flames and red paint--a classic combo. JL wheels are a nice touch as well.
Visions Unlimiteds' Red/Flamed PC-Wheeled Bus! It has the classic fade-to-white flames, with a porsche-red paint job and killer 6-spoke wheels. Very nice.	Visions Unlimited's "Midnight Arson" Bus! It features black base paint, and flames that fade from white to green. Those 6-spoke PCs are a nice addition, too!
Visions Unlimiteds' Flamed Johnny Lightning Bus! Visions Unlimited has brought another beautiful hand-painted flame job. Nice to see the other diecast makers getting the attention due. Resin Prototype of 1996 FE VW Bus! This is what the 1996-release of the VW Bus almost looked like. I think Phil (Hot Wheels® designer for the Bus) did a great job. His initals (PR) can be found between the rear wheels of the Bus.	Mattel's 1 of 20 Employee-only Gold-Plated Bus! There are some more views, ot the tampo and of the topside. Flamed and Detailed Red Bus! Please e-mail the artist! Red paint, basic-looking yellow flames and extra-detailed interior on this looker!	Street Freak's Bus/Go-Cart Duo! This is a nice customization of a Bus featuring black paint with mild flames. That Go-Cart is very tricked-out. See for yourself! Street Freak
Weav's Customs' Cal-Look Two-Tone Bug! This beauty features Racing Champions® 5-spokes, and magenta over white two-tone paint. Very clean and eye-catching. E-mail the creator, and please view the rear, too!	Weav's Customs' Cal-Look Rollback-Roof Bug! It is two-tone off-white and light green. Quite beautiful and well-done. Weav's Customs' "Piranha" Bug! See also the rear view. It was inspired by magazine cover car. Excellent 1:64 repro!	Zamac-Inspired Bus! Very believeable and well-done customization of what a Harley-backed Zamac Bus might look like. HERE is another view of it! The creator can be e-mailed HERE
Goodtoyz' Pearl Orange VW! A simple pearl orange paint job and cragar-style JL wheels make this a clean, but attractive custom. E-mail Goodtoyz!	Jon's Crossing-Flames Bus! It features a light purple metallic paint job and flame graphics in which the flames actually cross over each other. Tough to do, customizing fans!
Jon's Color-changing "Mood Bus"! See the different colors HERE, HERE and HERE. Excellent paint work and unique concept, Jon!	Jon's Multi-Colored Flames Bug! This is a great variation of the flame theme. The metallic paint and color combo used on the flames is spectacular! Jon has mucho more customs located either on #1 or on his own Custom Hot Wheels and Diecast Page.
Jon's Fluorescent-Flamed Bug! The purple paint and multi-colored fluorescent flames here are evidence to why he has so many pieces in RPM's Customs showcase!	Jon's Fluorescent-Flamed Bus! The flames look like they are in 3-D with their tennis ball yellow coloring. Meticulously painted flames and the extra-deep gloss of the base coat make it a unique and beautiful piece!

FordNut50's "Spoilers® Bus"! It is one man's amazingly convincing version of what theBus would look like if it were an original "Spoilers®" release. See also here and here. One of RPM's favorites!	Auto Haus' Empi "Inch Pincher" Bug! This one comes from and is a homage to the great VW customizing parts company of yesteryear. That wheelie bar and orange paint are eye-catching!
Chopper7777's Matchbox-based Funnycar Herbie! Chopper takes a Dragon Wheels® casting and turns it into a sharp-looking Herbie funnycar! Sweeeet. Please take a browse at Chopper's Customs, a website featuring his masterful work!	Chopper7777's Harley-Davidson Bus (without spoiler) and Scooter Duo! This is a very clean and subtle customization of the Bus. Note the mirror showing-off the rear-end detail. Very well-done, and the Scooter is a kewl addition to round-out the set of red vehicles. Chopper7777's Yellow Matchbox Bus! Chopper again comes through in terms of detail and quality. He took the newly-released Matchbox '67 Bus and painted it yellow and added flower stickers. Take a look!	Chopper7777's Halloween Bus Chopper gives us all his interpretation of just what the Bus should look like when dressed-up for Halloween. Orange and holiday stickers seem to be the right choice!
Chopper7777's Matchbox-based VW Bus Herbie! Good to see folks expanding into non-Hot Wheels cars for their creativity. Chopper has a great Herbie®-based theme going!	Chopper7777's 1999-Matchbox release VW Bus Herbie! He took the just-released VW Bus from Matchbox, and made it into another Herbie-inspired custom! Look around for more variations.
Chopper7777's Herbie-decorated Golf! Very cleanly-done and welcome addition to the Herbie-based customs being churned-out by Chopper7777!	Chopper7777's Herbie with matching Camper! Matching wheels and paint/decals were added to each piece for a combo that would look beautiful together amongst your custom collection! Very well done, too.
Chopper7777's VW Delivery and Customized Custom VW! Chopper made a delivery sedan and repainted it to look just as good as a Mattel-original might be. That re-shoed redline Custom VW looks at home next to the delivery.	Chopper7777's Herbie with Herbie-decorated Hauler! Chopper took one of the newer haulers and re-sprayed it with the Herbie attire, and voila! Nice looking pair...of Herbies. Chopper7777's Pro Street Herbie! Chopper took a VW Bug casting then torqued, bored and retooled it for this asphalt-burner. Not to mention the Herbie paint/deco!	Chopper7777's Cool VW This is similar in appearance to the Pro Street Herbie to the left, but a flamed and dark purple paint job. Nice!
Chopper7777's VW Stake Bed Truck! Chopper took a Bug casting and added a nice looking Tom Daniels-flavored stake bed rear!	Chopper7777's black Harley Bus/Scooter set! Chopper carefully removed that Bus spoiler and painted it black with Harley stickers. Matching Scorchin' Scooter® is just tOOooOOO trick! Check-out another photo of it.
Phillips '76® V8-powered Bug! Very cleanly-done and front-engined, too! Please e-mail its creator here!	Lords of thee Asphalts' Bones Bus II! A beautiful follow-up to the first Bones Bus. This sequel features hand-formed 3D skull designs and smaller detailing than Bones Bus I!
Lords of thee Asphalts' "Fast Bat" Bus! This not only has a super-detailed custom paint job, it features a unique treatment to the raer spoiler--bat-like wings! Quite unique.	Lords of thee Asphalts' "Flamer" Bus! It has super-detailed flames, and surfboards to match! Even the rear has been filled to make it more tame in appearance!HERE's another photo!
Lords of the Asphalt's Super-custom "Bones Bus"! It took some mold-forming time, and some attention to detail to give us this wild, one-of-a-kind piece. Quite a difference from their cloud-muraled Bus to the right ==>	Lords of thee Asphalt's Cloud-Muraled Bus! This is a one-of-a-kind mural, hand-painted on. Truly unique and beautiful. Reminiscent of the Blue Angels Bus, too, but much nicer, in my opinion. E-mail the creator!

Tim Hoh's Orange Power Bug! Not only did he do a silver and orange Custom VW Bug, but a blue one as well!	Tim Hoh's Silver/Blue Bus! Tim kept it simple, with an eye-pleasing combo of silver on top and light blue on the bottom 1/2. Even the undercarriage has been shot with silver paint to complement the color scheme!
Elite Customs' Front-Opening Drag Bug! It has a hand-masked checkerboard pattern on top of black basecoat, and some too-wild interior detailing! More amazing views of it are HERE and HERE. You can e-mail Elite Customs here!	E.C.'s Front-hinged Blue Dragster Bug! This one is inspired by the 1996 FE Bus. Note the white-lettered rear wheels and hinged-from-the-front body. Even the paint is exact!
Jamie Maner's Way-2-Fast® and Bug combo! Jamie's attempt as his own flavor of the Way-2-Fast® and Bug mix. The blue color looks just beautiful, and it is very well executed to boot! E-mail Jamie here.	Jamie Maner's Green Bug! It has a custom light-to-dark green fade paint job, and features Johnny Lightning "Real Wheels" tires! Well done.
Jamie Maner's Blue Fade Bug! This Bug has a light-blue-to-dark-blue paint job. He opted to keep the original Hot Wheels® wheels, and it looks great, of course!	Jamie Maner's "Funny Bug" Dragster! It has a rear-hinged, flip-up body, and a wild fade paint job. These types of paint schemes seem to be right up Jamie's alley, and you can see he has "the touch."
kcar2's Flamed and Gold-plated Bus! This one has customization written all over it. From the gold-wired wheels on the rear, to the gold-plated engine area, and the red body with flames. Unique and quite a looker! E-mail the creator!	Green Ghost-Flames Bug! This one features a dark green base coat with barely noticeable, yet well-done "ghost" flames in a lighter green. hotdog7536's Checkered "Bud" NASCAR Bus! It features a wild checker-patterned roof and decals galore!	'90's version Green Spectraflame Custom VW! This car even features an engine protruding from the front, like the original custom VW! Very well done!
