Welcome to our travel album!
Along the Road
Kauai is called the "Garden Island"
of the Hawaiian
archipelago. It is truly that...and SO much more!
We felt like we were in paradise.
Besides being one of the most gorgeous places I have ever
seen, it has such a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere.
It's one of those places that makes you think,
"Couldn't we could stay here FOREVER?"
The inhabitants are among the friendliest and
most courteous we have met in any of our travels.
Many people have gone there on vacation
and loved it so much, they decided to make it
their permanent home. Once you've visited
Kauai, you can certainly understand why.
Skid and I
We had stopped on the road to Waimea
Canyon to admire the view
of the Pacific. A couple from
the San Diego area stopped
there at the same time.
We traded cameras and
took each other's pictures.
An overlook on
Waimea Canyon Road
It is said that Samuel Clements
(A.K.A. Mark Twain)...
although he never saw it...
gave Waimea Canyon the title
"The Grand Canyon of the Pacific."
Although not quite as vast, it is an equally
impressive sight. We happened upon
the couple who had taken our picture
and the lady remarked that it looked like
the Arizona canyon with more green.
An overlook above
the Na Pali Coast
This picture was taken from an
overlook north of Waimea Canyon,
looking down upon the Na Pali Coast.
It was raining on top of the cliffs,
but the sun was shining
on the beach below. The scene
was like a dream...like
being in a fantasy world.
