Upon first arriving in WA, I was greeted at the airport by two very fine friends. We loaded my luggage into the car and began our journey some 200 Km (124 M) south of Perth to Busselton. Busselton is a small town located on the coast of the Indian Ocean in Geographe Bay. We went to a caravan park where I met some of my online friends for the first time and also new friends. We spent the week of New Years fishing, boating, playing games, and seeing the sights. I saw the constellation Southern Cross for the first time while staying here. It was a wonderful site.
It was here that I saw the WA coastline for the first time and I must say it was the most beautiful sight I have ever seen. As you will see in some of the pictures the ocean was the most magnificent blue color I have ever seen. We also went into WA's wine country near Margaret River where there are vast expanses of vineyards, Ghost Gum forests, and Jarrah forests. We stopped at several winerys and sampled many different kinds of wines that I must say rival Europe and the United States for some of the finest wines in the world.
As a special treat I was taken to a small out of the way shop located in the midst of a huge Jarrah forest. Upon entering my eyes beheld some of the most beautiful furniture I have ever seen. Huge dining room tables, side boards, desks, and Grandfather clocks all made from the native Jarrah. One of my passions is to make furniture and these magnificent pieces where some of the best I have ever seen. The craftsman ship that went into these pieces were breath taking. Well on with the pictures.
