This portion of this page is a list of links to some new pages I've added to my site. One of which, both my favorite and most hated by me, is a page that covers the Spider Story. This is a true story about my time in Okinawa and the Banana Spider that literally crossed my path. Another one is mostly about me, my life story. Which isn't much. It will have just about everything about me on there. What I like and what I don't like. What I've done, and...possibly, what no one knows I've done. There's one that is mostly motivational Marine stuff. Things I've heard or read through my life in the Marines. One, and possibly more, will be short stories I have written over the years. I hope to have that one completed soon. Most pages are currently under construction, and, therefore, not finished yet. Some may not even be there. But don't worry, and thank you for stopping by. As you may soon see, this site deals mostly with one of my favorite animals, the mountain gorilla. They are more "human" than most people care to admit. But, if you watch them, or even look at enough pictures of them, you will see startling similarities between the gorilla, and man. Try to see if you don't agree.

So, there I was, right, thinking of something to use as a topic for my website...when it came to me....
I like gorilla's, so why not use a few pictures of some, and some brief opinions of them, to fill up my site? I know this isn't much of a topic to some people, but to others it is. Take this guy over here (LEFT). Aren't you in the least bit curious as to what he's thinking? Don't you wonder as to what might have happened just before this photo to make him seem so glum? When you look at his face, doesn't he seem almost human? I think he does. And I think a lot about the questions I've asked you. And, I do wonder....

There are just so many things about gorillas that many people do not know about, nor understand. I have noticed that for the most part, most people will not admit to the concept of an animal having it's own thoughts. They see to think that they are not intelligent simply because they are not human. So, once again, our own human arrogance gets in our way. Once again, we think that animals do not communicate simply because we don't understand them. And, although, it's not just gorillas that people make these mistakes about. It's all animals.

When you think of human qualities, what do you see here?
You have the adorable infant (TOP) hitching a ride. Right here I must add that this picture was taken in the wild, unlike the others. And it is sad for me to say that this silver back giving the infant a good seat was shot, not long after this picture was taken, defending his family from poachers.
You also have this guy (LEFT) checking his manicure. Most people will say it's their nature to do these things and that they are not doing them by choice. But, are they? Really? You decide.

As beautiful as these gorillas are, their life is not quite as much. They are still facing troubles within their own habitats. Man is continually encroaching into the gorillas' homes. And it would be a terrible crime if these magnificent creatures were to no longer share this earth with us.
