BIG TED & GERTRUDE BRIDGES PAGE

I used to spend a month each summer in Fletcher Oklahoma with my fathers' parents, Grandma & Grandpa Bridges. Fletcher was a very small town. Behind their backyard was a bunch of cattle. Not alot to do in that little town, but I always loved going.
All of my relatives called him Big Ted, and me, Little Ted. He was a little intimidating at first glance, but he was suprisingly gentle and always smiling. The two of us would walk to downtown Fletcher every morning to check his mail. Not much was said between us during those walks. This is a very special memory that I have with him. He was a quiet man, but his love was never questioned.

Gertrude Bridges was the sweetest woman that I have ever known. Everyone loved her. She always new exactly what to say, even if it was nothing at all. The two of us would spend our time playing cards and Ya-Hoo (I think she let me win). She was always encouraging the people around her, and never had a bad thing to say! I miss her so much.

They were incredable! They were always holding hands. :) They travelled alot in their RV after retirement. I went with them on a few trips. We drove to Yellowstone one summer. They showed me and taught me alot about the US. Adventuring with both of them is a memory that I have always cherrished.
Their 50th wedding anniversary! I never saw them angry at each other. They had a power between them that you couldn't help but feel while with them. Their marriage was one that I would consider to be as close to perfect as possable. The love that they showed to each other, their family, and friends were very evident. I miss them and remember them often.
