.)THE COLLECTION- (1976) Singer Johnny Cash stars as a down-on-his-luck con man who, in the disguise of a priest, takes advantage of the people of Walnut Grove and tries to steal their church collection.

.)BUNNY- (1976) Nellie gets hurt after falling off of Bunny, the horse Laura sold to the Olesons to buy the stove for Ma on an earlier episode. Mrs. Oleson blames the horse and wants Nells to shoot it. She also blames Laura. Laura takes the horse and keeps it at her house. Then she starts helping Nellie with her homework (in other words, she does Nellie's homework for her) to try to make up for the accident. When she recovers, she pretends to still be hurt in order to get Laura to do her homework for her and to keep getting sympathy and gifts from her mother (Harriet Oleson).

.)THE RACE- (1976) Laura decides to race Bunny in the upcomming horse race but runs into competition when Mrs. Oleson buys Nellie a thouroughbred racing horse to enter in the race. She already has enough trouble trying to shoe Bunny because her parents don't even have enough money to buy her and her sisters any shoes (which are certainly needed). She ends up working for Mr. Dorfler at his stables to be able to get Bunny's shoes. Then Nellie wants her to take care of her horse, Sparks, and work him out for the race leaving her little time to get Bunny ready.

.)LITTLE GIRL LOST- (1976) When Laura and Mary go to collect bugs for a school nature project, Carrie wants to tag along. Reluctantly, they let her come and leave her to play with some bugs while they go off to look for more. A butterfly catches her attention and she runs off after it and ends up falling into an old abandoned mine shaft. The whole town works together to try to get her out, but the real heros end up being a drunk who alerts them that she did not fall into a well like they thought and should stop digging because it would collapse and bury her, and Carl Edwards who leads Pa and Mr. Edwards to the entrance of a mine that only he knew of.

.)THE MONSTER OF WALNUT GROVE- (1976) Laura has a hard time convincing her parents that she saw Mr. Oleson chop of Mrs.Oleson's head on Halloween. She finally recruits Carl's assistance and the two try to figure out what happened and why Mrs. Oleson is nowhere to be found.

.)JOURNEY IN THE SPRING- (1976) [2parts] After Mr. Ingalls' mother dies, and he visits his father, his father tries to burn himself up in the house because of his tremendous grief. Mr. Ingalls takes his father back to Walnut Grove with him and lets him stay with the family. He starts to recover and then because of a sudden tragedy that Laura makes him believe is his fault, he tries to leave them and take the train back home. Laura is determined to get her grandfather back and goes after him herself without informing her family.

.)FRED- (1976) Laura accepts a goat instead of pay for her work on another farm to keep the owner from shooting it. She is told that it is the last of its kind. She soon finds out why the owner hated "Fred" so much after Fred gets many of the people in Walnut Grove mad.

.)THE BULLY BOYS- (1976) Three brothers move into Walnut Grove and try to cheat and bully the people of Walnut Grove. The brothers, who range in age from a teenager to a 50-ish man, do everything from punching Mary in the eye to harassing Ma and destroying her eggs that she was on her way to sell to the Merchantile. The whole town must band together to teach the brothers a lesson.

.)THE HUNTERS- (1976) [90 minute special] During a hunting trip with her Pa, Laura accidently knocks over his gun causing it to discharge and shoot him in the leg. Because of the injury, he can't travel and she has to get help for him. She finally finds help in a blind man and his son who take him into their cabin. However, the son leaves and Pa keeps getting worse. Laura almost forces the blind man to go with her to get help. This involves finding their way out of the woods that she doesn't know and that he can't see.

.)BLIZZARD- (1976) Miss. Beadle lets the class out early because of snow. She soon regrets this when the light snow turns into a deadly blizzard, stranding the kids halfway between school and their homes. The fathers go to look for them and bring back many frost-bitten kids prompting Dr. Baker to turn the school into a temporary hospital (as is done quite a number of times in Walnut Grove). Most families come out lucky, but the storm proves itself to be fatal on this Christmas Eve.

.)I'LL RIDE THE WIND- (1976) John Jr. is given a great opportunity to go to a University. Mr. Edwards, however, is not too keen on this idea considering that he can't read and thinks the boy should stay on the farm where he "belongs". To make matters tougher, John has proposed to Mary (who is only 13). Now he has to decide whether to stay home, which will allow him to keep his father's approval, and to get married, or to go to the University, which would be a wonderful opportunity. The fact that he can't do both creates a dillema for him.

.)QUARANTINE- (1977) Mr. Edwards brings back a disease from his trip and the whole town goes under quarantine. He feels guilty when his daughter ends up being the only one to get sick and takes her to his old house to take care of her. When Laura tries to visit Alicia, Mr. Edwards becomes angry and yells at her to leave. Then Laura discovers that she has developed the same spots on her body and leaves during the night to protect her family.

.)LITTLE WOMEN- (1977) Miss. Beadle lets the students get into groups and do a play on a book. Laura, Mary, and their friend decide to put on Little Women. Nellie promptly invites herself into the play and has her mother write the script, giving Nellie the lead role of course. Meanwhile, their friend tries to get her mother to come to the play. However, she can't seem to convince her that it has nothing to do with getting her together with a certain man.

.)INJUN KID-(1977) An Indian boy and his white mother move to Walnut Grove to live with her father. However, her father is prejudiced against the boy and angry with the mother because of her relationship with an indian. Laura makes friends with the boy and has to help protect him from another boy (played by Willie Ames) who is determined to get rid of him.

.)TO LIVE WITH FEAR- (1977) [2 parts] Mary gets in an accident in the barn and has to go have surgery. It turns out worse than expected and they can't afford the hospital bills. Pa and Mr.Edwards take a job working in a mine to help pay her bills.

.)THE WISDOM OF SOLOMAN- (1977) A young negro boy sneaks a ride on Pa's wagon and comes home with him. Laura claimed she saw the boy outside the school, and this got her in trouble for not paying attention in class. When she finally sees him in her barn, she calls for Pa and they take him in for a while because he told them he didn't have a family.

.)THE MUSIC BOX- (1977) While at Nellie's house for a club meeting, Laura steals her music box. This stays on her conscious and causes her nightmares because she broke it after she got home and can't take it back. Nellie ends up finding out and promises not to get her in trouble and just say she gave Laura the music box for her birthday if Laura will do anything Nellie tells her to from then on. Laura reluctantly agrees for fear of horrible punishment but later finds out just how much she has to do. Nellie forces Laura to turn her back on Anna, a friend that stutters, and play with her only. Then she says that Anna can join her club but later embarrasses her in front of all the other girls. Mary is angry with Laura for treating Anna so badly but Laura can't tell her why. Laura has to choose between answering to Nellie forever and getting punished for her crime.

.)THE ELECTION- (1977) The school election is coming up and the boys and girls are fighting against each other to win the election. Nellie is running for the girls and the boys pick Elmer for them and Mary to split the girls votes. Elmer, though, is slow and is always getting picked on. His father wants him to drop out for fear that it's just a joke. Then Nellie has a party to win votes so Mary has one too, but the other kids get stopped by Nellie who invites them to her house again. In the end, Mary drops out, so it's Elmer against Nellie.

.)GOLD COUNTRY- (1977) [2 parts]The Ingalls and the Edwards leave Walnut Grove, after constant rain destroys their crops, to search for gold. They meet up with some other families and Mrs. Ingalls starts a school in the tent church. Laura and Carl meet an old man who thinks that all the gold hunters are greedy and bad. He had a quartz mine and the trouble he faced destroyed his trust in any gold hunters.
