Lake St. Martin First Nation


Located ten minutes off Provincial Road 513, Lake St. Martin First Nation features acres and acres of beautiful pastoral lands, couched neatly against Lake St. Martin. visitors can enjoy peaceful hikes through the wilderness, canoe trips along the Lake and/or exciting hunting adventures along rugged terrain. Bear, moose and deer are some of the many animals ready to challenge the hunter in you. Skilled outfitters are readily available for extended trips.


The annual Lake St. Martin Winter Festival brings the community together for a week-end of fun and games at the end of February. Key events include a snowmobile poker derby and community bingo. In April, be sure to check out the Spring Bazaar at the Lake St. Martin School. Special offerings include an Annual Tea, Craft and Bake sale as well as activities for the kids. Treaty Days for Lake St. Martin First Nation take place in July and bring with them activities, games and contests for the whole family. For those with a taste of country living, pre-arranged farm tours are available for both small and larger groups. Agriculture serves as one of the key economic activities in the community. Local cattle ranches can provide weary urban travellers with a first hand look at farm life from a First Nations' perspective.


Unserviced camping sites are available throughout the summer months. Supplies, foodstuffs gasoline and basic gear are available in Lake St. Martin through the newly opened NW's Store, located on Provincial Road 513. Besides the store, the building houses a homestyle restaurant and laundromat.
