| My favourite past-time is reading. While I don't limit myself to any one genre, my favourite type is definitely Fantasy. The forgotten Realms, Dragonlance, Shannara, the list is endless. My favourite authors are George R R Martin, R A Salvatore, Raymond E Feist, Terry Brooks, David Eddings, Weis and Hickman - this list is also endless. I particularly hate Terry Pratchett and Tolkien. I tried to read Lord of the Rings, but found the character development non-existant, and I couldn't empathise with the characters. If I could recommend one book it would be 'Magician' by Raymond Feist and the trilogy I would recommend would be the 'Icewind dale' Trilogy by R A Salvatore. |

| The Crystal Shard is book one of the Icewind dale trilogy by R A Salvatore, chronicling the doings of the dark elf 'Drizz't Do'Urden'. Salvatore is a brilliant author who knows how to get the reader to emote with his characters. This is a Forgotten Realms novel, which is a massive series of books set in, unsurprisingly, the Forgotten Realms, where sword and sorcery rule the day. | Robert Jordan is simply one of the best authors around. Made famous initially with his 'Conan' books, he went on to pen the best selling series, 'The wheel of time' telling the saga of Rand Al'Thor, a young man destined to change the world. His fate is to defeat the dark one, Shai'tan and try and remain sane while doing this. The series is currently at book nine and going strong. Another author, who reminds me of Jordan, is George R R Martin. Check out some of his books for a cheap thrill!! |

| David Eddings is the best Fantasy/Comedy author(s) around- showing Terry Pratchett how it's really done. From the Mallorean to the Belgariad, the Elenium to the Tamuli, prepare to laugh. I think the last few books though, have deadlines for publishing written all over them; but hopefully this trend won't continue. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
