Established in March 1997, the Cute Cute Pet Shop grew from being a links page of the Cute Cute Anime Page into its own unique homepage. The Pet Shop started out with only a few pets available for adoption, and now it houses well over three hundred pets - It is THE BIGGEST homepage for anime pets out on the web today. There are 3 main purposes for creating the Cute Cute Pet Shop: To fulfill dreams, to establish a huge list of anime/manga-related links for anime otakus, and to provide information on anime creatures. Many anime otakus have always wanted to "have" an anime pet of their own. The Cute Cute Pet Shop allows their dream to come true, enabling them to choose their desired pet, giving a name for it, and taking it home onto their homepage. But that is not all it does for the pet owner. Besides being a "dream come true", the Pet Shop also serves as a huge list of anime/manga-related links for anime fans. All anime/manga pages that have adopted a pet are listed in the Proud Owners' List. Pet owners can gain more hits for their homepages, and all anime otakus have a huge selection of anime/manga pages to browse, making the Pet Shop an essential stop for anime fans. Over 500 anime/manga sites have adopted their own anime pet already! Every homepage listed in the Proud Owners' List gets an equal chance of gaining visits, since pages are listed with the names of their adopted pets, instead of homepage titles (therefore people can't pick one page over another by looking at the homepage title.) The Cute Cute Pet Shop has also spawned into THE place to search for info on anime pets. Just like adopting or buying a pet at any pet shop, owners need to know more about their beloved pets, in order to give them the best care and attention. That is why there is a need for info on each pet (and besides, there are so many pages on cute anime girls and guys already; anime creatures are often given less attention to.)
