Welcome to the gallery. I was hoping to evoke Homer Simpson’s notorious paean to deep fried circular bits of dough with the title, but if it comes off as the usual fangirl drooling, well, that’s applicable too. EPISODE THREE

Allen’s first public macking of Hitomi. Dilandau’s disgusted, Reeden’s eyes are about to fall out and Van looks ready to crap his khakis.

Apparently, Allen dragging home a woman is so cliché, Natal just rolls her eyes.

Gotta love the raffish grin. Just one way Allen earns the playboy rep in his debut episode.

A montage of Angel Allen from Hitomi’s erroneous speculation. ‘Okay, there’s this guy who saves me whose build is just like Van’s and whose hair looks just like Van’s. I know! It’s Allen!’

Allen smiling?! Allen joking with his men?! Study this pic because it’s quite possibly the only time in the series in which we get see Allen do something other than brood.

Those beautiful blue eyes react to the damage Van managed to inflict upon Scherazade. ‘Damn it! I just had this thing detailed!’

EPISODE FOUR

Natal’s talon manages to make a dent in the puff, but even the weight of a full-grown owl isn’t enough to deflate the damn thing. Maybe Allen stuffs his sleeves just so Natal will have a comfy perch.

Crazy visions of death and destruction apparently cause Allen to be quite concerned for Mystic Moon girls. Milk it, Hitomi, milk it.

“Oh I, I just died in your arms tonight. It must have been some kind of vision…”

Allen delivers his famous lecture to Van that basically boils down to ‘Quit be being such a immature angry little jerk.’

Nothing like a little moon gazing to bring on nostalgia. Allen begins to flashback to Celena’s disappearance for the first (but sooooooo not the last) time.

Huh, Escaflowne can fly. And I still kicked Van’s ass. Damn, I’m good.

EPISODE FIVE

Maybe this is why so many people think Allen’s an idiot. He *is* looking a bit vacuous here. Hot, but vacuous.

Barking orders to his crew. You can tell they’re important orders by the hair action.

Will you quit leaning in like that, Gaddes? You’re just asking some fangirl to write a yaoi fic.

Taking Shesta hostage. Will you quit holding me like that, Allen? You’re just asking some fangirl to write a yaoi fic.

Uh, oh. Hitomi mentioned Leon during the tarot reading. Make him angry, Hitomi. He looks good when he’s angry.

I know it would mean that he’s about to attack me, but I still would like to see this coming at me.
