         How we began......
After being bitten by the show bug with my 2nd GSD Britta, I quickly learned the ins and outs of showing.  Britta was a great girl, but unfortunately was not show material, so we gave up showing and began obedience.  However, I still had the urge to show so after much research I found Leah.  Leah came to us at age 4 months after I had searched for months to find just the "right" Show dog to join our family.  She came as a little spit fire, and quickly took control (as well as our hearts) of our family.  Thankfully, Leah takes after her grandmother Izzy, and is a kind and gentle "ruler" over Britta, and they are the best of friends.
Leah has more than excelled my dreams of what I wanted in a Show dog as well as my family's companion and protector.  Leah is our ideal of
what a German Shepherd should be...correct in structure with the mind to work.  By age 2, Leah had  accumulated 12 points, 2 Best of Breeds, 4 Best Opposites, and her first Major. Unfortunately  soon after we learned that Leah's handler Chip was retiring to become a judge.  At that time, we decided that it was best to stop Leah's career temporarily and breed Leah to gain a new addition for our family.  Leah again excelled my dreams with her  first litter. The pups exceled in conformation and in temperment.   It was tempting to keep several pups since the quality was there, but I felt it was best for the pups  be in homes not kennels, so I  placed all the pups in pet homes except for Ava who I kept her to carry on Leah's line.  This was the  best choice for Leah's  children since they are all beloved pets while excelleing in obedience and other venues their owners choose to do. For example,  Leah's  daughter Bonnie helps on a farm, Gunner  is working in obedience and tracking, Amy is getting ready for obedience competition while doing Agility for fun, and their littermates play with their own children at home.
Leah's daughter Ava whom I kept is more then I ever thought I could achieve in my first breeding.  Ava is the 2003
NE Reserve Best in Futurity winner.  Also, Ava has earned her Championship title with (2) 5- point Majors and 3 Best of Breeds (twice over Specials), and now has her own kids who are excelling in several venues as well.  Since then Leah has had another litter, and has produced 2 More Champions, and another Major pointed  progeny, earned her Temperment Certification,a nd earned the coveted GSDCA ROM title.  Leah kids (and grandkidsa) are  earning titles in obedience, conformation, and doing Therapy work and showing a German Shepherd can do it ALL..
Leah pups (and grandkids) success is reflected by thier mother's  own success.  After taking a year off to get ready for competition again,  Leah returned with a bang.  Since, Leah had  lost her handler Chip, my good friend Larry Legg took over her career. Eventhough he is not a Shepherd handler, Larry had admired Leah since she was a pup.  Often he would come to the ring to watch her show, and comment how much he lovd her.  So when he offered to help I could not refuse. After having several Majors break on them, winning WB each time, one finally held so Leah completed her Champion at 4 years old with her good friend Larry holding the lead.  And now years later Larry finished Leah's son Bandit, and he is currently in the top 10 in the US.   I feel very fortunate to have this much success early on and am thankful for all my friends who have helped me.  I do not think I would be here today without my friends and mentors.  I  continue to grow in knowledge each day with their support and hope that my sucess reflects good upon them and the German Shepherd breed which I love so much.
