There are many awards, ribbons, and decorations that cadets can earnby doing different things to go onto their uniforms. I have collected all the outside awards that I know of and all the ribbons and decorations (except for arcs, because they are pretty obvious).

Military Order of the World War Award (MOWW)

A cadet must be in good standing in all military aspects and scholastic grades at the time of selection and presentation; has shown marked improvement in both military and scholastic grades at the time of selection and presentation; and has indicated by military and scholastic grades, extracurricular activities, or individual endeavor a desire to serve his/her country.

Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR)

A cadet must be a member of the graduating class; be in the top 25% of the cadets in ROTC and academic subjects; has demonstrated qualities of dependability and good character, adherence to military discipline, leadership ability, and a fundamental and patriotic understanding of the importance of ROTC training.

Scholastic Excellence Awards (American Legion)

The cadet must be in the top 10% of his/her class in academic subjects; be in the top 25% of his/her class in ROTC subjects; has demonstrated qualities of leadership; and has actively participated in related student activities, such as, student organizations, constructive activities, or sports.

General Military Excellence Award (American Legion)

he cadet must be in the top 25% of his/her class in academic and ROTC subjects and has demonstrated outstanding qualities in military leadership, discipline, character, and citizenship.

Veterans of Foreign Wars of the USA (VFW) Award

A cadet must be in good standing academically and militarily; has demonstrated achievement and concentrated effort in military subjects and academic subjects; and/or, demonstrated capability and diligence in a related activity of the JROTC program. Selection and other criteria as determined by the SAI.

US Army Recruiting Command Award

The cadet must be in the second year of a 3-year program or in the third year of a 4-year program; be in the top 25% of his/her academic class; has demonstrated outstanding leadership traits and posses the potential for assuming positions of increased responsibility; has participated in extracurricular activities that foster both scholastic and military excellence; and has demonstrated qualities of dependability and good character, respect for military discipline and standards, and posses a fundamental and patriotic understanding of the importance of JROTC training.

Reserve Officers Association Award

The cadet has indicated a desire to continue in the ROTC program and obtain a commission; be in the top 10% of their JROTC class; has demonstrated oustanding qualities of leadership, moral character, and high aptitude for military service.

Retired Officers Association Award

The cadet has indicated a desire to continue in the ROTC program and obtain a commission; be in top 10% of their ROTC class; has demonstrated outstanding qualities of leadership, moral character, high aptitude for military service.

Order of the Daedalions

Awarded for oustadning achievement in academic and military subjects, oustanding deportment and a high sense of personal honor.

National Sojourners Award

Awarded for the oustandingachievement in academic and military subjects, demonstrated ideals of Americanism and oustanding potential for leadership.

Presidential Physical Fitness Award

Cadets who meet or exceed the 95% standard during a scheduled cadet challenge event where all five events conducted the same day will receive this award. The patch is authorized for wear on the cadet uniform for year from the date earned. The patch is to be worn on the right breast pocket in accordance with the criteria DA Staff Badges.

Physical Fitness Award

Awarded to the top male and female cadet scoring the highest score on the Presidential Physical Fitness during a scheduled cadet challenge event where all five events are conducted the same day will receive the award

DISTINGUISHED CADET (N-1-1)

ACADEMIC EXECELLENCE (N-1-2)

Awarded annually to one cadet who exhibits the highest degree of excellence in scholastics.

Awarded annually to one cadet in each LET level for maintaining highest school academic grades.

ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT (N-1-3)

PERFECT ATTENDANCE (N-1-4)

STUDENT GOVERNMENT (N-1-5)

Awarded annually to those cadets who maintain a grade of "A" in all academic subjects.

Awarded to cadets with no unexcused absence during each quarter/semester.

Elected to a student government office.

LEADERSHIP EDUCATION TRAINING SERVICE (N-1-6)

Honor Unit with Distinction Insignia

Each member of a unit designated as an Honor Unit with Distinction is awarded the Honor Unit with Distinction Insignia.

Honor Unit Insignia

Each member of a unit designated as an Honor Unit is awarded the Honor Unit Insignia.

Academic Achievement Insignia

A gold wreath authorized for wear by cadets in the top ten percent of each JROTC class based on grades earned in JROTC courses, as determined by the SAI. Subsequent awards are indicated by a felt pad center background.
