Chapter 234

Mina tensed as the figure removed his hood revealing a very handsome looking man. She couldn't help but notice how nice he looked even though she was in a life or death situation.

"I am Kaj," the man said. "I am the leader of this group."

"Why do I care?" Mina snapped.

"Hmm..like most women you are trouble I can see that. Let me spell things out for you. You can either help us or, not help us and face the consequences, which would unfortunately be fatal."

"Help you do what?" Mina asked.

"Allow me to explain," Kaj said. "We are the male resistance. It's our goal to overthrow the amazon government."

"And who is the amazon government?"

"They are the female rulers of this kingdom, or queendom as they insist on calling it."

"It's about time they let some women run the show," Mina said.

"Shut up," Kaj said. "Now..anyway...the amazon government oppresses us men. We aren't going to stand for it. Now are you a resonable girl. Do you believe in oppression?"

"What I know is that you've kidnapped me and threatened to kill me. Why would I want to help you?"

"Let me ask you something. I know of your power outworlder. If I an trying to overthrow a government, would I want such a valuable commodity such as you to fall into their hands."

"I'm not an object."

"I apologize, you're right. But wouldn't I want to keep the amazons from gaining your power."

"Yes, but you don't have to kill me."

"I think I would, because you could probably wipe us all out without a thought, or else you wouldn't be here," Kaj said. "I don't want to kill you, but I can't let you fall into the hands of the amazons."

"I'd prefer to stay neutral," Mina said.

"I'm afraid we can't risk that," Kaj said.

"Can I at least have something to eat?"

"Fine," Kaj said. "Feed her. I will talk to you after you meal."

Gial walked up with some food.

"I'm really sorry, but it's necessary," Gial said.

"If what he says is true I could almost understand him being uptight, but I don't like being the object of discussion."

"I don't blame you for feeling that way. I'm sorry this had to happen to you," Gial said. "But I think you'll like the food."

"I've had better," Mina said.

Gial grinned slightly.

"You're kinda cute," he said.

"Don't patronize me," Mina said.

"No I mean it. A lot of the girls around here are all business, but you...you're cute."

"What I am is hungry, and annoyed," Mina said.

"Here you go," Gial said and fed her a bite.

"It'd be easier for me to eat if my hands weren't tied."

"That's true," Gial said.

"Well?"

"No, sorry," Gial said.

"Jerk," Mina said.

"You want to eat or not?"

"You win," Mina muttered.

"They haven't killed her, that's a good sign," Azura said looking down on the group from a hill. Mars glanced at her.

"It usually is," Mars said.

"Hmm..there's a lot of them. Still..I think we can take them out together," Azura said.

"Wait a second, my powers pretty dangerous, I don't want to kill anyone," Mars said.

"Neither do I," Azura said. "Hopefully we can avoid it. Only really desperate people resort to actual killing."

"Like those guys down there."

"I'm afraid so," Azura said. "Your powers could kill them?"

"I've never used the higher powers on humans, I guess the lower powers would last."

"We'll wait for them to be as far from her as possible," Azura said.

"We're going to have to get closer if we're going to surprise them," Mars said.

"What if you shot a fire wall between them and your friend?"

"That could work," Mars said.

"In the meantime I'll leap in and distract them, you help her."

"No..there are too many of them for you."

"You don't know what my fighting skill is."

"Azura, there are twenty of them."

Azura looked at her.

"Maybe you're right," she said.

"I'll use a fire wall, then we'll take them out together," Mars said.

"All right," Azura said.

Gial finished feeding Mina and moved away.

"Here goes," Mars said. "Mars Fire Ball Surround!"

The attack flew out and across the ground. The men all reacted in surprise and drew their own energy weapons. Mars and Azura raced down the slope. The men raced to meet them.

"Mars Fire Ignite!" Mars shouted leveling several of them. She then threw a group of charms into the air and they knocked more men to the ground. Azura swept through the group and stunned the rest. Mars leapt over the flames and Azura hurried around them.

"What took ya?" Mina asked.

"It was your stupid idea to go with that guy," Mars said and untied her. Mina rubbed her hands to get the circulation back.

"Who's that?" Mina asked.

"Azura, she's a friend I think," Mars said.

"Come on..we have to hurry," Azura said.

"You don't plan on doing anything about them?" Mina asked.

"Not at the moment now," Azura said. "Now let's go."

"Wait.." Mina said and pulled out her power stick. "Venus Planet Power," she shouted and transformed.

"Now I feel better," she said. The three hurried off.

Saturn sighed as he leaned against an auditorium wall. The students were all eating the food that was provided and tried to let their fears take a back seat to their hunger.

"Thank you Vitar," Saturn said.

"Of course, we want to make all of your stay as comfortable as possible," Vitar said.

"If that can even happen," Saturn said.

"Hmm..yes..I guess it must be hard. As a soldier I am used to be away from home. Still not this far."

"At least you get to prepare for it."

"That's also a good point," Vitar said. "The government minister has probably arrived by now."

The two headed out of the auditorium. In front of the school stood a man in cloak.

"Greetings, I am Janus, minister of the state," he said.

"Guardian Saturn," Saturn said.

"Hmm..if you come with me, I'll explain everything."

"I can't do that, I can't leave the students here. They're terrified," Saturn said.

"Very well But may I speak with you in private?"

"I know a place," Saturn said.

"Vitar, keep this place secure," Janus said.

Vitar nodded.

The two were soon on the roof.

"Yes..this will do, I suppose your wondering how you got here," Janus said.

Saturn nodded.

"A magical force drew you here. I'm afraid we had something to do with it, but we weren't entirely responsible. Anyway..needless to say, you were drawn here because of your power. All of you."

"My friends. Where are they?"

"I don't know. You see the four countries all tried to draw you, so it's reasonable to suspect that all of you are scattered throughout this continent."

"But the school and it's students are still here," Saturn said.

"Yes, because they possessed no power of their own, so the energy did not draw them away from the school itself."

"Oh," Saturn said.

"It is a little above your understanding I can see."

"Not that much," Saturn said. "Accepting that, why were we drawn here?"

"Because of propecy."

"Prophecy."

"Yes. It is said that in a time of great conflict. The outworlders will arrive, to settle the conflict either through peace or war."

"And you think we're them?" Saturn asked.

"Yes, we're sure of it," Janus said. "I hope you can help."

"I don't even know what I'm supposed to do."

"You will in time. For the moment I can see your concern is the students here. Our government is prepared to do whatever it takes to make their stay here as pleasant as we can."

"And just how long is their stay going to be?"

"I'm not sure, but we will send you back when the prophecy is settled."

"Why can't you send them back, they're not involved," Saturn said.

"They are for a variety of reasons, I'm sorry," The minister said. "But..for now..you tell me what your people need and I will see that they get it. All right?"

Saturn nodded.

"So you want to see the countryside ey?" Tijiro asked as he and Uranus headed back from dinner.

"I'm curious as to the landscape, yeah," Uranus said.

"Then tommorow I will show it to you," Tijiro said.

"Uh..thanks."

"Yes..you see..I will be honest. I was slightly annoyed that you were needed. I believe myself to be a capable warrior. However, since you are here, there is little I can do to change that, and forces are at work higher then my own. Besides, you seem to be reasonable enough."

"I guess that's a compliment," Uranus said.

"Yes, and keep in mind that Tijiro does not give them out often."

"I'll try and remember that," Uranus muttered. "So what's up with you and Sakuro?"

"Oh..that, she doesn't like my attitude? Though she is more arrogant then I ever claim to be."

Uranus started laughing.

"What?" Tijiro asked.

"I just liked the way you said that," Uranus said.

"Oh..I'm glad you did," Tijiro said. "Anyway..I'd be worried about her. Sakuro is a bit over the edge."

"I am not!" Sakuro said appearing behind them. She walked up to Tijiro and looked him the eye.

"You're an arrogant fool who's here because he has one super move, but aside from that I've got no use for you, so don't talk behind my back especailly to him,' Sakuro said and stormed off.

"Nice kid," Uranus said.

"Yeah..well she looks better from behind anyway," Tijiro said.

Uranus started laughing.

"I agree," he said.

"I think we'll get along fine," Tijiro said. "Just keep in mind I saw her first."

"What? You mean you want her."

"Of course, couldn't you tell?" Tijiro asked.

"Well..no," Uranus said.

"Oh..well..I do, see you tommorow," Tijiro said and headed off in a different direction.

Uranus grinned.

Serena was floating through a cloud filled sky.

"Where am I now?" She asked herself and stretched her hands out in front of her.

"Oh...I'm dreaming of course," she said to herself. A figure appeared in front of her. "Darrien!" She shouted. Darrien just stared at her saying nothing.

"Darrien. Come on, talk to me!" Serena said

Darrien said nothing and vanished.

"No..come back!" Serena shouted. "Where are you Darrien?" she said.

Serena woke up startled and looked around.

"I'm still in that stupid cave," she said to herself staring at her bound hands and feet. "Still tied up to. Well at least I can sleep though not well," she muttered.

"You all right?" Sy asked. He was sleeping a few feet away.

"I..uh..sure," Serena said. "It's nothing," She said and closed her eyes and tried to fall back to sleep.

Where are you Darrien? She asked herself. You'll come for me won't you?

Venus woke up slowly and looked around.

"I'm still on a horse, aren't I?" she muttered.

"Of course you are," Mars replied. "I had to catch you from falling off several times."

"Three on a horsk is a little tight. I'm sorry," Azura said. "Still neither of you know how to ride right?"

The two nodded.

"We should be safe soon. We'll definately meet up with a patrol from the city within an hour or so," Azura said.

"Now it's my turn to sleep," Mars said. "Venus you keep me from falling."

"But I need more sleep Mars," Venus said.

"You haven't been working that hard," Mars said. "I need some."

"But Mars.." Venus whined.

"No," Mars said. "Good night," she said.

Venus sighed.

"Be that way," She muttered.

"You two get along well," Azura said.

"We're really good friends, sort of," Venus said.

"Wouldn't have doubted it," Azura said. "It was so obvious."

She grinned.

"Don't be fooled," Venus said. "We really are inseperable."

"Did you take a blood oath or something?" Azura asked.

"We haven't needed to, but there are plenty of things that keep us together, and that's good, or else we wouldn't get along."

"I'm not sure what that means," Azura said.

"We get that response a lot," Venus said.

"You get that response a lot," Mars muttered.

"Aren't you asleep?" Venus said.

"Obviously I'm not," Mars said. "Probably because of all the talking."

"Sorry," the two said.

"It looks like most of the students are managing to get some sleep," Miss Haruna said.

"Yeah," Saturn said.

"Greg, until we get through this, I want you to see us teachers as equals, because while in most things we have more experience, this is all new to all of us. You're the boss got it?"

"I'll try my best," Greg said. "But what happened to Principal Oksua."

"He was late."

"So he's not here?"

"No," Haruna said. "I wonder what the look on his face was when he found the school missing," she said with a grin. "I really shouldn't make light of all this. I mean I've been turned into monsters before, but this..this..is on a whole new level."

"I know," Saturn said. "And I have no idea how we're going to get back home."

"You and the other scouts will figure something out. You always do."

"Yeah. Right now I want to keep the students from rioting," Saturn said.

"You're doing all right so far, besides it doesn't hurt to have an army stationed outside," Haruna said.

"I'd prefer not to use force," Saturn said.

"Yeah, but sometimes it's the only option."

"I'm hoping this isn't one of those times."

"Me too," Haruna said.

The next morning came and Serena woke up again. She couldn't help dreaming about home, her family, Darrien, and wondering where her friends were. Still she had slept, which made her feel somewhat better despite her predicament.

"What's for breakfast?" Serena asked.

"What is that?" Sy asked.

"You know, the first meal of the day."

"Oh you mean, firstmeal," Sy said.

Serena sighed.

"Whatever," She said.

"Well you don't like the butte pie, but I'm sure I can get you more of those berries."

"Oh..goody," Serena said. "I like that."

"I thought you would," Sy said.

"Now when do we get all this wizardess thing settled."

"Soon I hope."

"Good, I'm getting sick of these ropes."

"I can bet."

Breakfast went by quickly and soon Visara was walking up to her.

"Now you listen, I'm going to free your feet, but if you run, it's over," Visara said. Serena nodded. Her feet were untied.

Soon, she, Sy, and Visara were walking to the eagle. Sy lifed it out of the cave and they were soon soaring through the air. Serena had been tied to Sy, and Visara held onto her. There was nowhere for Serena to go. The bird swung around the mountain and towards another.

"It's cold up here," Serena said.

"We'll get you a coat next time," :Visara muttered. "Until then deal with it."

"Yes ma'am," Serena said. "I'm sorry."

"So just how are you the least bit powerful anyway?" Visara asked. "You seem like a whiner."

"I am not," Serena shrieked. "Well maybe a little, but I also have a lot of power."

"Why would anyone entrust such power to you?" Visara asked.

"Someday maybe you'll see why," Serena said. "I know I may not seem like much, but believe me there's more to me then just who you see in front of you."

"If you say so," Visara said.

"I think she's cute myself," Sy said.

"You would Sy," Visara said.

"So how far away is this mountain," Serena said.

"It's right there," Visara said pointing. Serena stared at the mountain, it was very jagged and dark.

"It looks spooky," Serena said.

"What is spooky?" Visara asked.

"Uh..scary unnerving," Serena said.

"Hmm..yes, but you get used to it," Visara said.

"The wizardess has to keep up appearances you know," Sy said. "She has a reputation for being scary."

"Uh..where are we going to land?" Serena asked.

"There is a cliff on the other side of the mountain," Sy said.

"Oh..I see..."

"You ask too many questions?" Visara asked.

"Why do you say that?" Serena asked.

Visara glared at her.

"You're more trouble then you're worth."

"I've heard that before," Serena said.

"I don't doubt it," Visara said.

"Ah..up early ey Rick?" Tirjiro asked.

"Well..I sometimes can be an early riser."

"I bet," Tirjiro said. "Anyway...you want to head out early. I was just about to catch firstmeal."

"What's that?"

"Strange question," Tijiro said. "You know first meal of the day."

"Oh..right.. breakfast."

"Are you insulting me?"

"No..of course not..breakfast is what we call the first meal of the day."

"I see, that is curious, but also not important, let us go," Tijiro said.

"Whatever you say," Rick said.

"Yes, that is usually the best way to handle things," Tijiro said.

"Are we there yet?" Venus moaned.

"Almost," Azura said. "I'm sorry, but it just takes a long time to get from one city to another."

"Have you thought about building a train?" Venus asked.

"A what?" Azura asked.

"Never mind," Venus said. "Just trust me it would make things a lot easier."

"I see, but we should be within safe territory now. Which is good news, it is doubtful the male resistance will follow us this far," Azura said.

"Rick..where are you.." Mars moaned.

"She's dreaming," Venus said.

"Who is Rick?" Azura asked.

"Her boyfriend," Venus said.

"Who is a boyfriend," Azura said. "Is that some sort of manservant?"

"Uh..in some cases," Venus said with a grin. "Though we don't usually see it that way."

"Oh...you should tell me more about this concept," Azura said.

"That's right you guys don't have marriage do you?" Venus asked.

"No it's not allowed," Azura said.

"That stinks, just what do you do for fun?" Mina asked.

"Hunt."

"Hunt?" Venus asked. "I feel sorry for you."

"It's nothing to feel sorry about. I love a good hunt," Azura said.

"Well...I still pity you."

"I don't understand why. But okay," Azura said.

"Rick...come on..no...don't go away..come back," Mars said.

"She's got the love bug bad," Venus said.

"Some sort of disease?" Azura asked.

"No," Venus muttered.

"Oh..sorry."

Elsewhere.

"Hmm..so they went this way?" a figure said riding a horse.

"Yes Lord Rekar," a soldier said.

"Hmm..we will have to find them. We can't have spies like that running around."

"I agree my lord. We must find them, but where did they go. They can outrun our horses."

"Not indefinately, isn't that right?" the lord said turning to another rider.

"That's right," Sailor Mercury said holding the reigns. "Their energy runs out eventually."

"Then we'll find them soon enough. Especially with your help right my dear."

"Uh..yes...I guess," Mercury said.

"Those spies have got it coming to them," Lord Rekar said.
