Chapter 238

The soldiers advanced and moved to grab them.

"URANUS WORLD SHAKING!" Came a cry. A wave of energy swept through the ground and knocked out the enemy column. A figure leapt from the bushes and cut down more of the enemy with a golden energy sword. Soon the troops were all lying on the ground stunned. Sailor Uranus jumped to the ground.

"Sailor Uranus, I am so glad to see you," Sailor Moon said.

"Friend of yours?" Sy asked.

"Never mind all this, we have to get moving," Sailor Uranus said.

"The stun bolt should heal in a few hours," Sy said. "We have to keep ahead of them for that long."

"Then let's not waste time," Sailor Uranus said. The eagle got up and the group soon hurried down the path as fast as they could.

"Thanks, by the way," Sailor Moon said.

"It's what we do right?" Sailor Uranus asked.

"So what have you been up to?" Sailor Moon said.

"I wandered around for a while. Then I saw the army. I didn't like the looks of them so I just attacked."

"You're kidding."

"I didn't want to take chances," Sailor Uranus said. "I wanted to find everyone. Have you seen any of the scouts?"

"Aside from you, no," Sailor Moon said. "I have no idea where they are. Uh..but this is Sy, he's in the resistance."

"Resistance to what?"

"That army, and the other one across from it," Sy said.

"Another one..you mean there's a second one?" Uranus asked.

"Yes, we're running right towards it, but we're still miles away," Sy said.

"That makes things harder," Uranus said.

"They don't like us either," Sailor Moon said. "We trashed several hundred of them too. But then again we had a good reason."

"Which is?" Uranus asked.

"It will take some time to explain," Sailor Moon said.

"It can wait. So.Sy..does your outfit have any more birds like that?"

"No, there are very few in existence, it's mythical actually."

"How'd you end up with it?" Uranus asked.

"I don't want to talk about it," Sy said.

"I didn't know it was rare," Sailor Moon said.

"Now you do," Sy said.

"Any idea where we can hide?" Uranus asked.

"Not really, or else I would spoken up earlier. Most of the resistance cells are in other areas," Sy said.

"Say Sy..with you and the bird gone, how are the others going to get down the mountain?" Sailor Moon asked.

"They have their ways, to get both up and down it," Visara said. "So do the armies I'm afraid, but not until they get closer."

"Oh..I see.." Sailor Moon said. "I thought the mountain would be a major obstacle."

"It is."

"What mountain?" Uranus asked.

"I'll probably get a chance to see it, then you'll understand."

"All right," Uranus said.

And the group kept running.

"I don't seen anyone yet," Rekar said.

"They're probably deeper in," Amy said.

"Yes, but we can't take the horsks in there?"

"Fine we'll go on foot."

"But they can travel faster."

"Not in their tired condition," Amy said. "I could move faster as Sailor Mercury, but that would leave you alone."

"It would also leave you alone," Rekar said.

"True," Amy said. "But I can handle them. Maybe I should try to call out to them."

"Worth a try."

Amy cupped her hands.

"Mike! Steve!" she shouted.

There was no reply.

She shouted again.

Still no reply.

"Guess we go in on foot," Amy said.

"I'm not sure about this," Lord Rekar said.

"You want to find them don't you?"

"Definately..but.."

"I can go alone. You can head back."

"No..that's all right, let's go."

The two soon were heading into the forest.

"Your turn," Pluto said and reverted back into human form.

"Neptune Star Power," Neptune said. "Hey..that feels pretty good. Let's go."

"Do you think we're outdistancing them?"

"If they're good at tracking..no. If they stink we've got a shot."

"We've been doing well so far."

"That worries me."

"Me too, just the thought of us outsmarting anyone."

"I know..maybe this countries just full of dumb people."

"That it could be."

"They'd have to be pretty dumb though."

The two began to laugh.

"Greg might I speak with you?." Vitar said.

"Sure.." Greg said. "What is it?"

"Well..let me ask you something. Purely theoretically. It might help you make your decision."

"Okay."

"Well say an evil force wanted to gain power for themselves, and they resorted to violence."

"Uh huh."

"Wouldn't it be justified to resort to violence to beat them."

"If absolutley necessary, yes."

"But you understand what I mean."

"I've fought battles like that many times Vitar."

"Then you know what it means. You know that sometimes force is the only way."

"You're telling me that right now it is."

"Yes," Vitar said. "It's not just the enemy across from us, it's the enemies to the sides. This is about power. We're the reasonable one's. You see us. We're nice people."

"Yes it seems that way," Greg said. "But how do I know the other three countries aren't nice either."

"You don't..but let me put it another way. If you help us, you can be there."

"Be there?"

"Of course, if we win, you'll be there when we get the power, how can we stop you from being there. If you don't help, another side might win and then we'll be stuck. If you don't fight for us, the enemy will find an outworlder that will. And the resistance already have them. Greg, if you help us you get to have a stake in the battle, you'll be able to decide what happens."

"You have a point," Greg said.

"Don't I though? And also, the faster we do this, the faster we find the rest of your friends, because the reason you're here the reason they're here is all about the power in the zone."

"I think you're right. And I guess I can't take the chance that someone evil would get that power if it is as powerful as they say," Greg said.

"Trust me. It is. Do you think we'd call in outworlders if it wasn't?"

"It's doubtful," Greg said.

"It just wouldn't happen, trust me."

"All right...all right, I'll agree, but only if you come with me."

"Me? Why?"

"Because if you're right I can thank you. If you're wrong. Well..."

"I understand," Vitar said. "Sure, I'll come along. I've been looking for an excuse to get out of here for a while now."

"I didn't think it would be a big problem for you to leave."

"Yeah, well...here I am," Vitar said. "Let's hope we're both right."

"Yeah."

"Of course you know this may mean fighting your own friends."

"Fighting them? I doubt it. We'll talk it out," Greg said.

"You think?"

"Well once I explain it they'll probably take my view."

"Maybe."

"Why wouldn't they?" Greg asked.

"Well...who knows, you all arive here, innocent and without knowledge. Who is to say the other powers haven't convinced them they're right?" Vitar asked.

"Just like you have?" Greg asked.

Vitar grinned.

"Just like I have," he said.

"We'll have to work that out when it happens," Greg said.

"Guess so," Vitar said. "The council will be glad to hear it."

"I have to go see my classmates now."

"Sure, enjoy yourself," Vitar said.

"It's not really a matter of enjoyment."

"Oh..reponsibility only?"

"Uh huh," Greg said.

"Yeah, you'll be fine soon," Sy said petting the eagle. "I'm sorry I got you into it. Visara will be interested to know they are prepared for aerial attacks."

"They weren't before?" Sailor Uranus asked.

"No."

"Pretty stupid on their part don't you think?"

"They've never been used before."

"Hmm..well.. I guess most of the people around her are a little substandard. So Sailor Moon, how'd you get mixed up in this? You told me what the resistance was. But.."

"There wasn't much to say, I ran away from the starring animals," Sailor Moon said.

"The what?" Uranus asked.

"The brown furry things that just stare at you endlessly," Sailor Moon said.

"Oh those things," Sy said. "They're harmless."

"They scared me," Sailor Moon said.

"They make everyone nervous," Sy said.

"Hmm..but what did that have to do with anything?" Sailor Uranus asked.

"I'm getting to that," Sailor Moon muttered.

"Sorry.." Sailor Uranus said.

"Anyway...so..it was after running from the staring animals that I ran into one of the armies."

"And what happened?"

"I ran away from them."

"Oh..I see."

"Then Sy came to my rescue. But that didn't last long because as soon as I get back to the resistance headquarters they tied me up and told me I was a spy."

"We didn't know for sure," Sy said.

"An adequate precaution," Sailor Uranus said.

"Sure, side with them," Sailor Moon said. "Anyway..."

"Did they gag you at any point?" Uranus asked with a grin.

"Don't make light of it!" Sailor Moon scrreched.

"You wouldn't happen to have another one lying around would you?" Uranus said to Sy."

"Sorry..no.." Sy said.

"Hey...don't gang up on me. You guys are mean!" Sailor Moon said.

"I wonder what they've cooked up for us," Venus said.

"It'll have to be pretty good to convince me," Mars said.

"Me too," Sailor Neptune said.

The three were lead into the large hall.

"Ah..so you have decided to show us your power finally," The amazon said looking at Neptune.

"Watch what you say or I might give you a demonstration," Sailor Neptune said with a grin.

"Not after you see what I have to show you," the amazon said.

"I can't wait to see it," Neptune said sarcastically. "In fact..I'm not going to see it!"

"Neptune Deep Submerge!"

She blasted the doors open and hit several of the warriors. She raced out into the corridor.

"Wait! Come back!" the head amazon shouted.

"What do we do?" Venus asked.

"She may be overreacting a little," Mars said.

"Oh..never mind her..we'll convince her later," The amazon said. "Anyway..have a look at this."

She held up a mirror shaped object. The two girls looked at it and were overcome with emotion.

"She's right we have to help them," Venus said.

"Yeah...they'll pay for what they did," Mars said clenching her fist.

"So you two will help us out now?"

"Yes," The two said in unison.

"I knew you would," the amazon said with a grin.

Neptune meanwhile was being chased by several amazon guards. She drew her mirror and blasted them out of the way. A figure stepped down the hall in front of her and sent an energy blast flying at her. Neptune dived out of the way of it and rounded a corner.

"Great..a wizard or something.." She muttered. "This is just getting better and better. She rounded another corner, more energy flew at her apparently from the same source. She slid out of the way and raced forward.

"Neptune Deep Submerge!" she shouted.

The attack flew right at the wizard, who vanished and Neptune swept by.

"Teleportation...wonderful.." Neptune muttered and picked up her pace to leaping speed looking for a way out.

More energy flew at her. Some guards tried to stun her.

"They planned this well," she muttered and kicked a guard out of the way. She blasted open some doors and raced down a flight of stairs.

I hope this going to get me somewhere I want to go. She thought.

"So Tijiro, tried to get a sneak peek again ey?" King East asked.

"Your highness, your daugther's beauty is surpassed only by her personality. I cannot stay away, even though she pushes," Tijiro said bowing.

He's not bad. Guardian Uranus muttered standing nearby.

"Dad, can't you sanction him or something?" Princess Sakuro moaned.

"You should be flattered dear," East said. "You'd be wise to marry a man like him."

"I can't," Sakuro said.

"You can if I order you too."

"Not if I'm already engaged."

Everyone stared.

"Are you?" East said.

"Uh huh..I asked for his hand in marriage," Sakuro said point at Uranus. "He accepted."

"I WHAT?" Uranus said.

"You what?" Tijiro said whirling. "You..."

"Tijiro..I didn't...she's obviously joking," Uranus said.

"I know," Tijiro said with a grin. "Princess you have to give me a chance."

"No..I'd sooner marry him then you," she said pointing at Uranus.

"Don't bring me into this, I'm only here part time," Uranus said.

"But if you weren't, would you consider my daughter a fitting mate?" King East asked.

"I..uh...well. Tijiro likes her.."

"Never mind him. If he wasn't involved what would you say?" East asked.

"Uh..well.."

The doors swung open and Ariton hurried in.

"Your majesty I am sorry to interupt, but this is important," he said.

"Very well Ariton, what is it?" East asked.

His question was answered as a dark haired girl in a school dress entered and there.

"Hotaru!" Uranus said in shock.

"I am here to have my questions answered. It is suggested you do so," Hotaru said.

East and Sakuro glanced at each other.

"You know her?" Tijiro asked.

"Yeah," Uranus said.

"So what's with the threat?"

"She means it," Uranus said.

"I think we can go now," Sy said.

"You should come with me Uranus, we've got food and stuff," Sailor Moon said.

"I guess.." Sailor Uranus said. "Maybe I can figure this all out."

"What are you afraid of?" Sailor Moon asked.

"Nothing, but I have concerns about many things, still we should hurry," Sailor Neptune said.

The three got onto the birds back and it flew upward they could see some troops moving towards the spot they had been at.

"They move quickly don't they?" Sy said.

"It is getting dark, I think we should go back," Lord Rekar said.

Her visor slid across Mercury's face.

"My computer doesn't work, but my visor allows me night vision," she said. "Besides Mike and Steve won't be expecting us to move at night. Besides, if we can handle this without having to set a trap I'd prefer it."

"So would I," Lord Rekar said. "Still..."

"Is there anything in this forest that can hurt us?"

"Not really. But at night..I"

"Why are you so worried?"

"I am exposed right now. Vulnerable. I don't like that. I'm a very high ranked person in the government. It wouldn't do for me to get attacked."

"I'll protect you, don't worry," Mercury said.

"Yes..I guess."

"I've told you this before."

"So you have."

Mercury was seriously wondering why this man was chosen to lead the expedition in the first place. Tracking spies didn't seem to be his cup of tea. Then again it wasn't hers either, but at least she wasn't scared. Or maybe she was she just didn't notice. Regardless she had to find Mike and Steve before any more misunderstandings happened.

Sailor Neptune was in the dark literally and figuratively. She had ended up in a passage way that was pitch black, and her tiara did not provide much illumination. She fired a blast from her mirror down the hall. She didn't hear it hit anything which she figured was a goodsign, but she didn't exactly like where she was either. This was not the way she came in. Then again, the way she came in was crawling with amazons by now. All this because she wasn't sure. Then again, the amazons seemed to be a little desperate to keep her around. She should have suggested to Mina and Raye for them to bolt. At least to Raye. But Mina wouldn't have gone and Raye wouldn't have left Mina. Despite their troubles, she knew that. So..it was her problem. Those two might be fine, but somehow, Neptune didn't think so.

She fired again. Nothing. She could hear footsteps behind her running.

Wonderful. She thought and started to run.

"Let's Sailor Neptune. Once she learns what we have she'll listen to reason," Mars said.

"Yeah, we're sure of it," Venus said.

"No..girls..I need you for something else," the amazon said. "We need to move quickly and strike while we can."

"But..your people can't stop her alone," Mars said.

"Oh yes we can," the amazon said. "She underestimates us, but we can stop her, and then we'll show her what we showed you, and she'll get the idea."

"So what are we going to do?" Mars asked.

"We're sending you to the zone, we've got some business to take care of there and who better to handle it then you two."

"Sounds good to me," Venus said.

"Whatever we can do to help," Mars said.

"Neptune..wake up..." Steve said.

"Wha..." Neptune said.

"You hear that?"

"What?"

"That sound."

"No."

"You were asleep I heard it," Steve said.

"What sound?"

"There it is again?"

"I didn't hear it."

"Trust me..someone's coming."

"Quiet down then," Neptune said.

The two looked, they could see two figures approaching them.

"Uh oh.." Steve said.

"I'll take care of them," Neptune said.

"Maybe we should just run for it."

"No..we'll settle this now..then run," Neptune said.

"Just what does that mean?" Pluto asked.

"Watch.." Neptune said and narrowed his eyes in the dark. "Neptune..Golden Triton....Impale!"

The attack flew through the air. The attack slammed into one of them knocking them to the ground.

"Let's go," Neptune said and the two hurried off.

Sailor Mercury stared at Lord Rekar, he had been knocked to the ground and was now lying unconcious.

"Jeez..they surprised us..." she said. "I can't just leave him. What good aim to...I've really underestimated Neptune. I really should go after them..no I can't I have to stay here."

Meanwhile the two others hurried away.
