VISAS

Check at your home consulate for bilateral agreements on non-visa system with Azerbaijan. Required by all nationals with exception of Commonwealth of Independent States. Visas can be obtained in advance from the Azerbaijani Embassies, or by applying upon arrival in Baku international airport. The procedure is very simple. Visitors are recommended to obtain visas prior to their arrival. Travellers with a valid Georgian visa are permitted to enter Azerbaijan for five days, but thereafter are required to obtain Azerbaijani visa. See: the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan on exit from the country, entry into the country and passports.

The applicant is required to complete an application form (
download here), and provide two photographs, a letter of invitation by a sponsor written in Azerbaijani or English and a valid passport. The cost of visas vary according to nationality and the purpose of visiting Azerbaijan. A single-entry visa is valid from three days to three months and costs approximately 40 USD. A multiple-entry visa is valid for one year (generally obtainable in no less than five working days). Express visa services are available for a surcharge of approximately 50 per cent.

A re-entry visa can be obtained by foreigners who complete application forms and present their passports as they leave Azerbaijan, and this will give them permission to re-enter Azerbaijan provided they return within one month. To obtain a tourist visa, visitors must have a letter of invitation from an individual in Azerbaijan. If they have no previous contacts in the country, they are recommended to contact Azerbaijan Airlines, which can provide a letter of invitation from a tourist company working with the airline.
