Hey guys! Well, welcome to my journal. Sorry. But there won't be anything really private written on this site (unless you're lucky and I slip). This site is just for me to keep you guys updated on any changes that I've made on my site. Occasionally I'll talk about what's going on with me, but hopefully not too much. So yeah. Just check on me from time-to-time to see what's going on with my site, okay? I appreciate it. And for those of you long-time readers, you'll notice that my entries won't be as "amusing" as when I was putting my personal life into this. =) Too bad. =D Bon apetite! |

Sunday, April 08, 2001. 4:37 PM. Haha. Recognize the little thing above? I used to have so many of them along with my entries, but then I started typing that stuff in my AIM profile. So I stopped doing it in here. Maybe I'll start it up again. It always did give this page a little spunk. =) Okay! Time to start catching up ... in school!!! |

Saturday, April 21, 2001. 2:55 AM. So ... uh ... oh. Haha. Anyways, I made a new web site!!! Haha. Dang. I can't believe I'm still doing this stuff. Haha. The new page, MPHS CCS Boys' Track & Field Finalists, is a page to boost my ego ... er ... I mean to relive my glory days ... er ... I mean to ... um ... post pictures of hot guys? Haha. Just kidding. But anyways. This site was inspired from my original Track & Field web page, MP Track & Field '99 and CIF/ARCO am/pm CCS Track & Field Results 1998. Note that I'm the only Asian who made it that far. Hehe. Tite ... =D Okay. But enough tooting my horn. Hehe. Gotta go. Lates! |

Wednesday, May 02, 2001. 8:53 PM. Well, I'm going to be adding Nick and Jeff to the BestofUCLA Birthday Countdown page. Jeff was by Mishael's request of course. And even though he won't be living with us next year, he still deserves the spot. As for Nick, he has to be on, of course, being my future apartment-mate and all. Plus Nick's a cool guy. So uh ... on a sad note (yeah, I don't like these either), Richard's brother, David Tran, died a few days ago after a car accident. This is probably first time someone close to me has died. Scott McCoy died in a plane crash during my eighth grade year, but I really didn't have a connection with him. David's death really made me ... I dunno ... it made me feel weird. I actually pictured what it might have been like. To just be driving one second, be in an accident, then either struggling for life or dying on the spot. I mean, I know a lot of people who have been in car accidents, but I never had something like this happen before. It just really made me think. Life is such a delicate thing, and can be taken so easily. [sighs] Well, I don't want to depress everyone out there. May David rest in peace. I'm so sorry Richard. =( |

Thursday, May 31, 2001. 12:09 PM. Yep. A new site. Ken's Awesome Picture Gallery was created today. Actually, it was created on May 08, 2001. But originally it just had the picture of Stella because I was trying to find someone who could identify her (which no one has). That's why her name is just listed as Stella. I'm not even sure if that's her real name. Oh well. But anyways, I labeled that page temp.html, figuring I'd just use it for temporary stuff like that. But then today, Philsan (Genesan's brother) asked me who Jaymee Ong was, and dude. I just had to put Jaymee's pic up. I was going to take off Stella's and put Jaymee's up, but then I figured might as well keep them both up and make a picture gallery of my best pictures. So that brings me to now. The page is up and ready to be viewd. Bon apetite! I've got work to do. Lates yo! (I'll add more pics to the gallery over time). |

Tuesday, July 10, 2001. 6:55 PM. Hey! Doode ... er ... oh. Hehe. I was going to tell you a lot's been going on lately, but I just remembered. These journals are just related to my web site, right? =) Hehe. Sucks to be you. ;) j/k. But anyways, basically I just wanted to say that I updated BestofUCLA Birthday Countdown. What I did is I made some minor touch ups and I had to remove people off the page. I know, I know. Awful thing to have to do, especially if technically I don't HAVE to. But the thing was I entitled it BestofUCLA Birthday Countdown because it was supposed to duh ... count down to the birthdays of the people in the BestofUCLA. Well, I kinda got wrapped up and just added people using my own judgement ... which kinda sucked because then people came up to me asking why they weren't on the page. Which is true, because there are a lot of people who I would like to add to the site, but I figured adding all the people I wanted would make just a huge impersonal list which would actually be designed for myself. I didn't start the page for myself. I did it for the group. Which group? The BestofUCLA. So yeah. To be consistent and to avoid future hassles, I just made it reflect the roster. It was hard to do, but it was the decision I came up to, and dog-gone-it, I had to stick by it. Sorry if any of you were hurt in the process. If you want to get back on the page (or just get on), then subscribe to the list. That's not asking too much is it? Oh. And also, we got the phone-line. So that's why I'm doing all this now. Couldn't use PageBuilder on the computer labs in SEASnet or CLICC for some reason. So I had to wait to get a phone-line first so I could work on the page on my comp. We'll be getting DSL soon .... yes!!! Okay. Gotta go. Tying up the phone-line. E-mail everyone! I'm baaack!!!! |

Thursday, July 19, 2001. 4:29 AM. Just a quick update because I DESPERATELY need to get some sleep. Changed the name of Ken's Awesome Picture Gallery to Ken's Desktop Queens Gallery. Self-explanatory. Also fixed the typo on the table of contents. Where it used to read BestofUCLA B-Day Countdown, it now reads BestofUCLA Birthday Countdown. Also, added a new page dedicated to S.E.S.. When I work on it, I'll explain then. Okay. That was all of it in a nut-shell. Be back to expand some other time. Nite! |

Tuesday, August 07, 2001. 9:38 PM. Okay. Dude. I did a lot of stuff to my web site. I'm done with summer school, so I figured it'd be good to to do a little maintenance on the ol' site. Okay, let's see. Where to begin? Well for starters, I made changes to my first web site, although I told myself I wouldn't any more. I really didn't like the title page that I created for the site. I actually liked the one I used to have before that one. So I changed it back to the old one. The only negative thing about the old title page design was that it was titled "Ken's First Webpage" (which was the original name of the site). Of course, you know now that the site is not entitled "Ken's First Web Site." Which reminds me. The reason why I did some clearning up to my old web site, was because I am now going to release it out to the public again. As you all may (or may not) know, I created this new site because I wanted to make a site that reflected my newly created life at UCLA. I wanted to put my past behind me. So I created the site, not allowing the UCLA people to view my old page (or even know about it). But what I've learned this summer is that even though the past should remain in the past, the past is the foundation for the present and the future. To try to shut it out, doesn't really help any. So yeah. I'm opening up my old site to the public. I'm not really ashamed of the person that I was ... because people don't change ... although attitudes and outlooks do. I think of this site the way I thought of "Flowers for Algernon" (and if you haven't read that story, you really should. But I digress. Of course I updated Ken's First Table of Contents to reflect the changes made to that web site. Oh shoot. That reminds me. I didn't update one of the links on that page. Argh. Memo to self: do that later. I also censored a few things on a couple of my entries (in particular Ken's Journal Part 10 and Ken's Journal Part 11) Nothing major. Just stuff I ... thought twice about keeping. =) Hehe. Oh. I haven't done this yet, but I plan to take off Ken's Katherine Heigle Shrine to make room for Ken's Trip to China. I'm running out of space for that web site, and need to make room. I figure since the Katherine Heigle site was a mistake, and has no real purpose, I might as well take it off. So if you tried to click on the link and you get an error, then that means I finally did it. =) If not, then you might want to e-mail me to remind me because I probably forgot. Hehe. Okay. I think those were all the changes I made on my first web page. Oh. BTW: I will be advertising Ken's Official Homepage as my homepage instead of Ken's 2nd Web Site. There you can access both of my web sites. Consider it the center of my internet universe. ;-) Hehe. So yeah. When you remember even one thing about my web site, remember this: ken1203.homestead.com. That'll take you wherever you want to go. Shouldn't be too hard if you remember my screen name. The homestead part might be harder to remember though. Okay. Now for changes with this site. Oh! How could I forget to tell you guys. Well, not sure if you noticed or not (although it is the most popular page I've ever had), but the BestofUCLA Birthday Countdown was down for a while. Shortly after I made it reflect the BestofUCLA roster, I got a complaint from someone saying that I was being exclusive and that I was cutting people out for no reason, and that I was forming an untouchable clique. I thought about it for a bit, and I realized it was a bad idea just making it strictly the BestofUCLA-exclusive. There were a lot of people missing on the page who I felt deserved to be on the page, and there were people who were on the page who I felt did not belong on the page. So rather than having people feel hurt about being removed, I took the page down all together ... either until I came up with a solution or never again. Fortunately, Mishael contacted me after finding out what was going on. He convinced me that making it reflect the BestofUCLA roster was the best way to go. If someone wanted to be on the page, they could easily just join. Doesn't take any effort to join. Mishael even said he would take the blame for the decision if it arose. So thanks to Mishael, I decided to put the page back up after being down for two weeks. So yeah, the page is back up. Now to expand on my last entry. Ken's Desktop Queens' Gallery, is the page I made to honor those ladies who have spent the longest time on my computer desktop. The original idea was similiar to the celebrity web page I was planning to make (which turned into Ken's Katherine Heigle Shrine?). Fortunately, with this page, I have not just one person. I also limited it to one picture per honoree. That way I wouldn't end up with something like that Katherine Heigle page. Hehe. So yeah. So far I've included "Stella" (her real name is unknown), Jaymee Ong, and Eugene Kim. Now who is Stella? I have no idea really. I found her online, and that picture was supposedly hers. I'm not sure if she's kidding or not though. Because someone who looks that good has to be a model of some sort. But I have yet to identify her. Oh well. Her rule is over anyways ... although it would be nice to have a name to go with the face. My last update (actually it was the first thing I worked on) is with the S.E.S. web page. I finally finished it! I was thinking about my China web page and I was thinking about how my expectations for that came up short. I wanted to write about my whole trip, but because I waited so long, I seriously couldn't talk about it without knowing that I was forgetting details. My plans now for that site is just to throw on the pictures and just put long captions explaining each pic. That's the best shot I have. :-\ So yeah ... I didn't want the same thing to happen to my SES page (since it was the best weekend of my life ... that I can remember). So I forced myself to work on it last night, and thank goodness I finished it. It's so beautiful. I'm trying to add background music to it, but I think there's something wrogn with Geocities. They say that I can upload .mid files, but when I try, it says I can't. I just e-mailed Geocities. Hopefully they'll be able to help me out. So yeah, go check out my newest page. It's pretty nice. It's a bit long on the narrative, but oh well. I enjoy to write. What can I say? =) Okay. Hm. I think that's all the changes I've made. Oh. Duh. I linked Ken's Journal (part 14) to this one. I realized when I was surfing through my sites that I didn't link these two together ... which reminds me. I still need to link that SES page to my homepage. That way people can get out of that site. Hm. I will go do that right now then. Okay I'm done .... oh ... no. I'm not. Argh. Forgot one more thing I changed. I made a change to Ken's Journal Part 11. I won't tell you what though. That's part of the surprise. Hehe. Okay. That's all. Later everyone! Until next update! Oh ... and for those of you who are curious how long it takes me to write a long entry like this, the time right now is 10:25 PM. You do that math. ;-) |

Tuesday, August 07, 2001. 10:27 PM. Oh! One more thing. I lost my printer cable (that hooks my printer to my computer) and I lost my scanner cable (that hooks up my scanner to my computer) when I was moving into my apartment (did I tell you guys I'm living in my first apartment!? ... and I'm using DSL by the way, otherwise, updating this site would be a pain in the buttocks). So yeah. I can't scan pics anymore. I've been using the school scanner and getting pics from Genesan's camera. I'll try to get one when I'm up north so I can start scanning again. Okay. That's all. :-) |

Sunday, August 12, 2001. 5:32 AM. Once again, I have made updates, and once again I'm too tired to write about them. So I'll write in this tomorrow. Nite everyone! (dang ... gotta stop sleeping this early .....) |

Monday, August 13, 2001. 3:28 PM. Kenny's now on BestofUCLA! He took the first step. People say that our group is too exclusive and that as a whole we're not liked too much. But if they really were our friends, wouldn't they be here? It's not like we're making people go through weird initiation rituals or anything. Joinging is as simple is a click of the mouse. If they don't want to join that's their bad. Way to go Kenny! |

Monday, August 13, 2001. 4:19 PM. [yawns] Okay, since I'm stil waiting, I'm just going to do some more updating to my site. Okay, ... uh ... where was I? Oh. I was going to say taht I totally don't remember what updates I made on Sunday. Gosh dang it. Well, I know the most ... oh! I remember now. First of all, I created a new page (I do that alot during the summer). This one's dedicated to (and in rememberance of) the greatest floor at UCLA ... Hedrick 4-North 2000-01. This kinda makes up for me taking off some of the people from the [BestofUCLA] Birthday Countdown because they were not part of The BestofUCLA. Taking them off didn't mean I don't consider them friends. I just needed some kind of way to regulate what I do on that page, so I had to. But anyways, this new page should make up for it. For those of you who have been long-time readers of my web pages, you'll notice that hte new page Hedrick Island 2000-01 is very reminiscent of Ken's Senior Will. Of course it's quite an upgrade since I've learned the ropes of Geocities. But anyways, the site includes the people who were closely associated in our notorious group over at Hedrick. It includes a little bio on each person. And the top has a really cool graphic that I made for Genesan's 20th birthday. But anyways, I should stop babbling. Go check it out! Another update that I remember making was the addition of new links. Let me go check on them right now so I can let you know what the exact links are. BRB. Oh. One more thing about the new Hedrick page. Actually two things. One, I included a discussion board on their so the Hedrick people could keep in touch (in particular the girls who will still be living on campus next year). Two: Of course I have to give credit where credit is due. My inspirations for this page were Genesan and Ross. If I hadn't made that graphic for Genesan, I would not have thought of making the page. But it was Ross who I wanted to show the graphic to, and rather than sending him the pic, I posted it on my temp page. Then when I saw it on the page, I thought'd it be cool as a title graphic for a new page. And naturally since the picture was of the Hedrick crew, a Hedrick web page was a definite idea. Hehe. Okay, now for the links. Oooh ... cool. I'm almost at the bottom of this page. Get to start a new Journal page! Yeah! Hehe. A little too happy about that but oh well. Hm. Let's start this now so I won't have to go through the hassle up north (yes! I'm going home!). So yeah. Click on the link below to continue (the usual drill). :-) |
