12/02/00 I have been gaining weight. In the last 5 months I've gone up 20 - 30 pounds. It's funny though because even though I saw the number rising each time I stepped on the scale, my clothes were still fitting pretty much the same. I think I fugured it out though. I went and picked up our Christmas pictures (taken by my brother at local park) and it was obvious that I've put all that extra weight right into my FACE! Ughhhh! Extra-tripple-double-chin! Oh well, next year's Christmas pictures will look fabulous. Who knows, we may even get them done professionally. |
12/03/00 I've stocked my cupboards with an array of sugar-free items. I feel really good about this. Maybe if I can get use to the taste now it will be one less thing to adjust to after surgery. I had a bowl of sugar-free chocolate pudding and it was great! I think tomorrow I'll even try it without the whipped cream and Hershey's chocolate syrup. I'm sooooooo bad! :o) |
12/10/00 We just got back from a long weekend in Palm Springs. It was very relaxing. We stayed at our timeshare in a poolside suite and pretended like we had money, pretended being the operative word. The first couple of days there a construction crew was working in the pool area. I didn't give them much notice until the second day when after walking all around the living room for at least 20 minutes I noticed that our window blinds were wide open. Of course I was in my underwear. Man! I don't even like looking at me in my underwear! Other than that we had a fabulous time! I can't wait till our next trip to Palm Springs, maybe by then I'll fit comfortably in the jacuzzi tub in our room and if someone happens to see me in my underwear I won't be totally humiliated! |
12/15/00 I went back to my PCP last week and my blood pressure medication is working great. Now I'm just waiting for my gall bladder ultra-sound on the 27th. I've been calling the radiology department to see if they've had any cancellations and can get me in sooner, but no luck. I think I'll stop bugging them now seeing as the 27th is so close. It was worth a try. Once I get this last test out of the way I should be able to at least get the surgery scheduled within a couple of weeks. I'm hoping at this point for a date in late January or early February, we'll see! Over this past week a lot of people have checked out this website and that makes me so happy! I'm glad to be able to share my expiriences with others seeking WLS. Thank you, to those of you who have taken the time to send me personal messages and/or sign my guestbook. It is always an honor to meet new people and give and receive support. *sniffle, sniffle* I think I need a kleenex! |
12/26/00 Well Christmas is over, whew! What a fun and hectic couple of weeks. This was my daughter's 2nd Christmas but last year she was only 4 months old and, although she was very cute, she wasn't really able to participate. Unfortunately this Christmas holiday fell right in the middle of Cassidy's teething. At 11.30pm Christmas Eve Cassidy ran a high fever and subsequently suffered a febrile seizure. After a quick ride to the ER in the back of an ambulance and a lengthy wait in the waiting room we finally got to see the doctor at about 2:00am. By the time they were ready to run some tests on her she had long been back to her normal self and just wanted to sleep. Thankfully she is fine. In fact, as she ripped open her gifts on Christmas morning it as if the whole thing had been a dream. Never a dull moment! Tomorrow I go for my gall bladder ultrasound! This is my final pre-op test - yippee!!! I can't belive that I'm almost there! |
12/27/00 I had my ultrasound this morning at 7:30 am. Now just little more waiting. The ultrasound tech said that Dr. Callery should have the results within 3 days. I hope to have a surgery date scheduled withing the next 2 - 3 weeks. It will be great to finally be able to start the big count-down! |
