POST-OP JOURNAL |
5/9/01 I am sitting here with hair dye in my hair and thought I should update everyone before I leave for vacation. I have been on a plateau for about a week now, which I expect from time to time. I am holding strong at 57 pounds lost in just under 3 months and I am still very happy with those results. This has been an exhausting week as we've been getting ready to leave town...lots of last minute stuff to take care of. My hubby got on the scale after me this morning and I found out that I now weigh less than him by about 4 pounds, I think that is a first. I've out-weighed him ever since we've been married. Speaking of being married, we'll be celebrating our 7th wedding anniversary on May 14th...I think we're doing pretty good in this day and age ;o). |
5/28/01 Well I am doing very well. I have lost 62 pounds now and am wearing a size 16!! Unbelievable!!! I actually wore a pair of jeans from the GAP today, I have never worn anything from the GAP in my entire life. Vacation was incredible. We got to see family as well as do some gambling and sight seeing.. For our anniversary my hubby and I rented a limo and cruised the strip during sunset and went out to dinner at the Voodoo Cafe, which is on the 50th floor of the Rio. I'll be adding vacation pics soon (maybe even tonight). I am really starting to see the weight loss now and others are really starting to notice too. On a more serious note, when we returned from vacation, we recieved news that my husband's grandmother, Dorothy or Gram as we call her, has breast cancer (she is the one who lives below us). She will be undergoing surgery this Thursday. The doctors are unsure as to how much of the breast will need to be removed. Her doctors are hopefull though that she will do fine with radiation therapy alone and will not need to undergo chemo. On the one hand I feal emotional and afraid for Gram as my own grandmother died of breast cancer when I was 15. On the other hand, I know that if anyone can beat this disease she can. She's a tough old broad. I have decided at this time to quit my job and stay home to help out with her care as much as I can...and of course to be a full-time mommy once again, the best job in the world! |
7/28/01 Just a quick update on my progress and life in general - I'll create a journal page for July later :o) I have now lost 82 pounds and I have yet to try any 14's but the size 16's are getting quite baggy!! I am still feeling great and am lookinf forward to my 6 month check up. I am working as a part time office manager now for a children's entertainment company. It is working out very well with my family's needs as I am able to do much of the work at home and when I do go to the office I can take my daughter with me! We are getting ready to go to Palm Springs for 5 days, looking forward to that. My little sister is visiting from Arkansas, she is 9, her name is Dakota and she has never been to California before. It's been alot of fun so far. Here are a couple of recent pictures of me...as you can see, I chopped off all my hair and added some big blonde highlights! Fun, fun, fun!!! |
