GATHERING
will be held again this year
at the Logansport Mall
on Saturday, May 3rd, from 11 am until 3 pm.
This is especially for those in the classes from '55 thru '62,
but anyone can come visit those who wandered the halls with us.
In 2002, we had 80 people attend the GATHERING.

Karen Doyle Henn has sent some
photographs from their trek to Australia to share. Check

World travelers off on an adventure of a lifetime -- This
from Karen Doyle Henn: "My
husband and I are getting ready to leave Feb 4th for a 9 week
adventure to Australia and New Zealand. Can hardly wait. Wish
us well. It will be a lifetime dream coming to reality."
Sure hope Karen doesn't try to pick a kangaroo's pocket!
Linda McIntyre Scott has
finished her chemo and treatments and so far her doctor feels
that she is doing very well since he can find no signs of big
lumps or bumps, so that news is very promising. She asked
that I pass on this message, "Thank you all SO much for
your prayers, emails, and support!!! I'm smiling :0) (2-3-02)
Pat McClelland Grant,
and her husband are each doing well after a tough year last year.
Surgeries, broken bones, and an assortment of yukky things are
now in the past and Pat says she is so grateful for the support
of old classmates and other friends during their time of distress.

Services for Barbara Booher
Johnson's mother, Dorothy
L. Booher, 96, Logansport, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday
in Kroeger Funeral Home.
She died at 5:35 a.m. Thursday,
Feb. 27, 2003, in Chase Center, Logansport.
Born March 2, 1906, in Logansport,
she was the daughter of William E. and Emily Zimmerman Powell.
She was married March 3, 1928, in Logansport, to William A. Booher,
who died Jan. 14, 1989.
Mrs. Booher was a homemaker who
enjoyed gardening.
She was a member of Calvary Presbyterian
Church.
Surviving are one son, William
J. Booher, Indianapolis; one daughter and son-in-law, Barbara
and James Johnson, Phoenix; and two grandchildren, Paige Johnson
and Jason Johnson.
The Rev. Doug Mankell will officiate
at the services. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Logansport.
Friends may call from 12:30 to
2:30 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home.

Don Evernham's mother passed away at 10:02 p.m. Monday, Feb.
10, 2003, in Miller's Merry Manor.
Services for June Beatrice Evernham,
83, of Logansport, will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in Fisher Funeral
Chapel.
Born July 11, 1919, in Colfax,
she was the daughter of Raful and Oda Sally Kell Wyant. She was
married Sept. 8, 1939, in Monticello, to Cecil Dean Evernham,
who survives.
A resident of Logansport since
1945, Mrs. Evernham graduated from International Business College.
She had been employed at R.B.M. until her retirement.
She was a member of First United
Methodist Church, Logansport, for more than 50 years, where she
was active in the Friendship Sunday School Class.
In 1975, she served as Worthy Matron
of Fidelity Chapter #58 in, Order of the Eastern Star, and was
active in the Past Matron-Past Patron Association.
Mrs. Evernham enjoyed researching
her genealogy. A granddaughter of a Cherokee Indian, she discovered
that her ancestry traced back to the famous Hatfield-McCoys as
well as Daniel Boone.
Also surviving are one son, Donel Evernham,
Logansport; one brother, John Wyant, Monticello; two sisters,
Alspie Dugan, Columbus, and Ruby Durlacher, Indianapolis; and
five grandchildren.
One daughter, Deana Jo Seidensticker,
preceded in death.
The Rev. Bill Shannon, of First
United Methodist Church, will officiate at the services. Burial
will be in Ever-Rest Memorial Park, Cass County.
Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m.
Thursday in the funeral chapel, where an Eastern Star service
will be held at 6 p.m. (3-4-03)
John White's
sister Pat (Class of '58) (patriciawatson@nyc.rr.com) is happy
to report that even though John suffered an aneurism on December
18 that should have killed him outright, he drove himself to
Memorial Hospital, and was transferred within hours to Fort Waynes
Parkview where he underwent brain surgery on 12/19. Dismissed
a few days ago after having been deeply sedated for almost three
weeks, he now seems completely recovered except for occasional
headaches.
John had given up smoking just
three days before his medical emergency, so upon regaining full
consciousness, found that many of the urges of a recovered smoker
were behind him! He continues to suffer from the dire effects
of emphysema which keep him from any real physical activity including
his beloved game of golf. He would be most grateful to hear from

Sherry Loser
Pasquale's father died January 3,
2003.
On Jan. 3, 2003, Wallace C. Loser, our
beloved husband, father and grandfather passed from this life
to spend eternity with our heavenly Father.
Memorial services for Wallace C.
Loser, 86, Lakeland, Fla., are to be held at 2 p.m. today at
Georgetowne Manor Park in Lakeland. He died in Lakeland Memorial
Hospital.
Born March 31, 1916 in Royal Center,
he was the son of Glen and Alta Loser. He was married Jan. 10,
1937, to Mary House Loser.
After graduating from Royal Center
High School in 1933, he started his 50-year employment with well-known
RBM in Logansport. He became a supervisor and later a plant manager
for United Technologies in Flora.
He was active in his church and
the local Elks Lodge 66. Wally enjoyed his family and many friends,
always ready for a party or a good time! Fishing was his favorite
sport. The Losers have enjoyed 22 years of active winter retirement
in Lakeland.
Also surviving are two daughters
and sons-in-law, Sherry and Jim Pasquale, Logansport, and Markay
and Jim Martin, Canton, Ga.; four grandchildren, Andrea and Bruce
Vernon, Logansport, Marcy and Tony Hayden, Logansport, Toby and
Cris Martin, Canton, Ga., and Shelby Martin, Tallahassee, Fla.;
and five great-grandsons.
Interment and a local memorial
service will follow at a later date in Cline Cemetery, Royal
Center.
Memorial contributions may be made
to the Youth Ministry at Vineyard Christian Fellowship, 1301

The parents of deceased
classmate Fred Hanna
passed away in Sarasota, FL, within a month of each other recently.
Charlotte L. Hanna, 89, Sarasota,
Fla., formerly of Logansport, died Saturday, Nov. 23, 2002, in
Sarasota, Fla.
Born Aug. 26, 1913, in Walton,
she was the daughter of John and Cora Kesling. She was married
on June 30, 1940, to Frederick B. Hanna.
They resided in Logansport and
Culver until moving to Sarasota, Fla., in 1982.
Mrs. Hanna was a music teacher
and a member of Alpha Omega at Ball State University.
She was a former member of Calvary
Presbyterian Church and many other civic organizations.
Surviving are one daughter, Jennifer
E. Messmer, Bradenton, Fla.
One son, Frederick J. Hanna preceded
in death.
Private services will be held at
a later date with burial in Logansport. (1-25-03)
Frederick B. Hanna, 89, former
Logansport attorney, died Sunday, Dec. 22, 2002, in Sarasota,
Fla.
Born Sept. 5, 1913, in Cass County,
he was the son of Roy and Emma Burkhart Hanna. On June 30, 1940,
he was married to Charlotte Kesling, who died Nov. 23, 2002.
A graduate of Indiana University,
where he was a member of Kappa Sigma, Mr. Hanna received his
undergraduate and J. D. degree in 1938. He was admitted to the
bar in 1938. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in World
War II, and was a member of the Judge Advocate Corps.
He began his law practice in 1945
in Logansport and practiced continually until 1982. He was City
Attorney for Logansport in 1947 and also was Prosecuting Attorney
for Cass County from 1941 to 1943 and from 1950 to 1952. He was
President of the Cass County Bar Association from 1952 to 1953.
Mr. Hanna resided in Logansport
and Culver and was a member of the Elks and Rotary clubs of Logansport.
He was a member of Calvary Presbyterian
Church and many other civic organizations until moving to Sarasota,
Fla., in 1982.
Surviving are one daughter, Jennifer
E. Messmer, Bradenton, Fla.; one sister, Pauline Hockman, one
sister-in-law, Jane Hanna, and several nieces and nephews.

Bill Cuppy's son
Clayt Cuppy died on Thanksgiving Day.
Private funeral services will be
held for Clayt W. Cuppy, 35, Clearwater, Fla., formerly of Logansport.
He died Thursday, Nov. 28, 2002,
in an accident while hiking at the Grand Canyon. Born
Sept. 18, 1967, in Logansport, he was the son of William Russell
Cuppy and Cheryl Elaine Reid Callahan.
A 1985 graduate of Wyomissing High
School in Pennsylvania, he was studying for a Ph.D. at the University
of South Florida, where he had previously earned two master's
degrees.
Surviving are his father, Bill
Cuppy Sr., Logansport; his mother, Cheryl Reid Callahan, Clearwater,
Fla.; maternal grandfather, Harold Reid, Logansport; sister and
brother-in-law, Cara and Mark Littlefield, Tampa, Fla.; nephew
and niece, RJ Boggs and Alexis Littlefield, Tampa, Fla.; brother
and sister-in-law, Billy and Shantel Cuppy, Logansport; aunt
and uncle, Nikki Reid, Logansport, and Lynn Reid, Kokomo; cousins,
Brandie Reid, Indianapolis, and Boston Reid, Fairmount; aunt
and uncle, Joan and Dick Bushaw, Logansport; and cousins, Russell
Bushaw, Logansport, and Cynthia Grubb, Las Vegas, Nev.
The Rev. Doug Mankell will officiate
at the services. Burial will be private.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m.
Wednesday in Kroeger Funeral Home.

The
following unverified information came in an email as a partial
explanation of what happened that tragic day: Billy
Cuppy and Cheryl Reid's (his ex) son, age 35 was killed at the
Grand Canyon on Thanksgiving Day. Cheryl and her husband and
kids/grandkids were there for a vacation. He went hiking in late
afternoon with his brother in law and fell 600 feet (they're
not sure exactly what happened).

Mike Farrell's mother,
June Jenness Farrell, 86, of Kalamazoo, Mich., died at 7:20 p.m.
Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2002, in Kalamazoo, Mich. Services were held
at Kroeger Funeral Home in Logansport.
Born June 12, 1916, in Indianapolis,
she was the daughter of Cyrus and Ruth Schrock. On March 5, 1935,
she was married to Paul M. "Butch" Farrell, who died
Nov. 8, 1983.
She was employed for many years
at H. W. Gossard Co.
She was a member and past president
of the Logansport Elkettes.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law,
Michael and Joyce Farrell, Portage, Mich.; one grandson and his
wife, Patrick and Yumiko Farrell, Spring Lake, Mich.; two sisters,
Nina Gettings, Portage, Mich., and Georgia Roller, New Market,
Tenn.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Burial was in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Marsha Callane Staples' father, Kenneth
Callane (one of our teachers)died
in September.
Services for Kenneth L. Callane, 89, of 948
N 50E, Flora, were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Reinke Funeral
Home.
He died at 11:25 a.m. Saturday, Sept.
22, 2002, in Mulberry Lutheran Home, Mulberry.
Born April 30, 1913, in Carroll
County, he was the son of Lewis H. and Daisey D. Maxwell Callane.
On Aug. 4, 1961, in Flora Church
of the Brethren, he was married to Jean Smoyer, who survives.
He graduated from Flora High School
in 1930 and Manchester College in 1934.
He taught school at Deer Creek,
New Waverly and Logansport Schools. While at Logansport, he was
head of the English Department from 1960 to 1975. He also
was dean of boys and coached football and basketball during that
time. He taught for many years prior to that and was a
favorite of many of the classes from the '50s.
He was a member of Living Faith
Church of the Brethren, and he enjoyed riding motorcycles, hunting
and fishing.
Also surviving are one son, Kenneth
D. Callane, Flora; one daughter, Marsha Callane Staples, Lewisburg,
Tenn.; and six grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made
to the Alzheimer's Association. (12-9-02)
Denny Shaver's mother passed
away May 17, 2002.
Services for Anna Maxine Shaver,
81, of Logansport, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Gundrum
Funeral Home.
She died at 10:17 p.m. Friday,
May 17, 2002, in Logansport Memorial Hospital.
Born Feb. 4, 1921, in Logansport,
she was the daughter of Bruce and Anna Elizabeth Sexton Llewellyn.
On March 23, 1939, in Logansport, she was married to Delbert
Aaron "D.A." Shaver, who died March 3, 1996.
Mrs. Shaver was retired from Elco
Industries and had worked at T.M. Morris Manufacturing, RBM and
H.W. Gossard Company.
She was a member of Helm Street
Church of god and graduated from Logansport High School in 1939.
Maxine loved life and looked forward to each new day. She loved
God and was ready to be with the Lord.
Surviving are one daughter, Deborah
Carpenter, Logansport; two sons, Tom Shaver and his wife Janet,
Logansport, and Denny Shaver and
his wife Judy, Logansport; seven grandchildren, Derek Shaver,
Stephanie Cripe, Sarah Myers, Tim Leeman, Aaron Little, Zachary
Little and Drew Shaver; and three great-grandchildren, Kristen
Alberts, Aaron S. Little and Rager Myers.

Smith's husband, Tom, is at home
resting now after undergoing quintuple heart bypass surgery in
Indianapolis. Yes, that's right, a five bypass surgery. Then
to throw more upset their way, Tom's mother, Nora Louise Conn
Boyer, passed away on Friday. (3-9-02)
Ron Gifford's
mother, Gladys M. Adams, 84, died
at 12:35 p.m. Monday, Feb. 11, 2002, in McKinney House in Logansport. Born
May 9, 1917, in Cass County, she was the daughter of Willard
E. and Ada H. Hardy Patty. She was married to Frederick Gifford,
who preceded in death. On Oct. 20, 1968, in Cass County,
she was married to Gerald R. Adams, who died June 16, 1979. She
had been head cashier at Kroger Food Store and was a 50-year
member of the Baptist Temple. She also was a member of Fidelity
Chapter #58, Order of Eastern Star.
Surviving are two sons, Ronald Gifford,
Tehachapi, Calif., and Rick Gifford, Lebanon; two granddaughters,
Cindy L. Gifford, Lomita, Calif., and Julie Gifford, Lancaster,
Calif.; two great-grandchildren, Katie Jane Bertheola, and Erik
Gifford; two sisters, Gail Martin, Harlingen, Texas, and Marcella
Brown, Mount Pleasant, S.C.; and two nieces, Barbara Williams,
Logansport, and Patty Brown, Zionsville.
The Rev. Charles Sikler will officiate
at the services at 1:30 p.m. on February 14, in Fisher Funeral
Chapel. Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery. (2-13-02)
Rose Mary
McCain Kimberling's 83 year old
mother, Hermine F., passed away in her residence in Omaha, Nebraska,
on January 27, 2002. She was married to Robert F. McCain,
who preceded in death. She was a homemaker and a member
of Mary Our Queen Catholic Church.
Surviving are two daughters and
sons-in-law, Rose Mary and William Kimberling, Omaha, Neb., and Kathaleen and Olin
Pate, Columbia, S.C.; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren;
three sisters, Jeanne Medland, Pentego, Texas, Lorraine Obenchain,
Pittsburgh, and Jackie Sum and her husband, Robert, Banning,
Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.
One son, Robert L. McCain, preceded
in death.
Burial will be at a later date

Donald B. Schmidt, 94, of Logansport,
Allen Schmidt's father,
died unexpectedly in his sleep at home, at a quarter to four
in the morning, Saturday, Jan. 12, 2002. He was married
to Helen Davis, who survives along with two sons and daughters-in-law,
Don J. and Pamela Schmidt, Fort Wayne, and Allen and Gail Schmidt, Logansport; one daughter
and son-in-law, Sheila Schmidt and her husband, Dr. Edmund Gilday,
Grinnell, Iowa; four grandchildren, J. Kurt Schmidt, Franklin,
Tenn., J. Kraig Schmidt, Charlottesville, Va., and Carrie Robison
and Kathy Woods, both of Logansport; and four great-grandchildren,
Lauren Pereira Schmidt, and Zachary, Anthony and John Robison.
Mr. Schmidt was the founder of
A.J. Schmidt Plumbing & Heating Company in Logansport, where
he worked throughout his life, including the day he died. He
was a member of Cross-Wind United Methodist Church and a former
member of Tipton Masonic Lodge in Logansport.
Mr. Schmidt served on the board of directors
of Small Parts, Inc., for 36 years and was named Director Emeritus
when he retired from the board.
A devoted family man, Mr. Schmidt was
an avid piano player, an active gardener, and a life-long reader.
Mr. Schmidt was a 1927 graduate of Logansport High School. (1-26-02)

Brown had passed away suddenly.

Sharon
Leslie's life was recently shocked when her grandson,
Jeremy, died from an automobile accident a few days before Christmas.
She reports that she can certainly use all the love and prayers
we can provide for her at this difficult time in her life.

Sandy
McNutt Clark's mother, Mary Louise Lacy McNutt passed
away December 7, 2001, in Chase Center in Logansport. Born
Oct. 24, 1908, in Paris, Ill., she was 93 and had been a teacher
in Paris, Illinois, and Logansport. She married Dale W.
McNutt on July 18, 1936, who died Dec. 15, 1985. Mrs McNutt
is survived by two daughters, Sandy Clark ('59), and Suanne
Schwering ('56), five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Janet Tallman Nannen has a new
website. She and her husband build homes on their property
on the ocean in Maine and reports that Winter finally arrived
in Maine with this last storm that hit the Midwest on its way
here. We have very cold temps, several inches of snow, and ice
chunks (broken up with the changing tides) floating by. Still
wouldn't want to live anywhere else! (2-3-02)

Do you remember the Gossard
Company at the corner of 6th and Market
Streets? It's all gone now and there is a lovely park with
a big analog clock there. Be sure to stop and see it if
you get back for the reunion. (The City Building is right
behind this picture and today you just might catch sight of one
of the new police cars decked out in the Berries colors.
Watch for one that is black with big
red letters on it. Now that's
team pride!
