A Brief Explaination of Dimensions, Multi-Verses, and Dimensional Rifts
One of Lady Audia's chief powers is the ability to open a dimensional rift, or opening between 'verses. What follows here, is an explaination of how the dimensions and Multi-verses work and how a rift works.
Dimensions:
There are any number of dimensions, they are truly too numerous to count. However what you see below, is a simplified (highly simplified) view of how the many dimensions are laid out. In the center is the realm that all higher beings inhabit, be they the Supreme Creator of all Dimensions, the multitude of gods from every dimension, their messengers and various other funtionaries of the higher beings. Surrounding that, are the dimensions.
Multi-verse:
Within each dimension, an unknown multitude of parallel universes reside. Each universe is based upon a Template 'verse, from which each parallel 'verse is then a step away from. The Template is not always the most idyllic, nor is it always very habitable. But from this Template all the variations are formed. This is the Multi-verse.Below is a very simplified view of the Multi-verse, the Template is shown in dark blue.
Dimensional Rifts and Multi-Verse Gateways/Portal:
A dimensional rift is an opening between two dimensions. While a Gateway/Portal opens between two parallel universes within the same Multi-Verse. The operate on much the same principals, the only variant is the amount of power used, and the words of the spell used to open them.Dimensional rifts are usually opened between two neighboring dimensions, (the same applies to gateways/portals), for the power needed to open a rift is often hard to come by. However a very powerful spell exists to open a rift that bridges dimensions diametrically opposite from one another. Yet until Lady Audia opened one (accidentally at that!), it was thought impossible to work this spell, for the power needed to use this spell was enormous.
Below is a simple view of a dimensional rift, though the view is the same for a Gateway/Portal.
