On the 21st of May 2002 the Super Web Awards Program was established to achieve a goal, to complete a mission, to fulfil a purpose. This mission was to recognise all the hard-working webmasters around the world who jostle for website supremacy and this is a mission we are still completing today. Here at the Super Web Awards we understand the commitment and dedication required to create a website that excels in the three key areas- content, design and navigation. However, as many more individuals take up the challenge, innovation and creativity has become the discriminating factor between a good website and a great website. Our purpose is to recognise those webmasters who are innovative in creating something new and interesting and present a web page that is easy to navigate, interesting to read, well designed and uses graphics and creativity while maintaining an acceptable loading time.
Also, we do not only recognise, we set out to help and provide constructive criticism upon which we feel a website can build. We understand that no one is perfect and that no site is perfect and we also understand that there are conflicting opinions involved in matters such as website design- everyone has their own taste. Every applicant receives a comprehensive commentary on where and why their site lost marks- we don't just award randomly, we justify. How the award works
The Super Web Awards have a set criteria and all sites are marked against this criteria. To enter your site, we suggest you carefully read the criteria to determine honestly whether your site has what it takes to win a Super Web Award. To assist in this process we provide access to our honour roll which shows previous winners and a self-test which involves the very basics required to win our award. If you feel that your site is good enough to win our award, then you simply enter the required details in our entry form. We then judge your site, which usually takes 2-4 weeks whereupon we will send you your results. Winners are provided with an award image, a place in our honour roll and our highest commendations, while unsuccessful applicants still receive a comprehensive commentary on where their site needs improvement.
