Doctrinal Statement

 Verbal Inspiration of the Bible:

We believe that the scriptures of both the Old and the New Testaments are the verbal, infallible, perfectly preserved Word of God. They are the supreme and final authority for faith and practice. We believe the Scriptures, as preserved for the English language in the Authorized King James Version, to be the Word of God without error.

The Person of God:

We believe God is supreme in His Person, eternal in His being, absolute in His attributes, and glorious in His Perfection. We believe in the Trinity - God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

The Person of Jesus Christ:

We believe in the virgin birth of Christ, His Deity, and sinless life, His vicarious death, along with His bodily resurrection and ascension, and in His personal, eminent, pre-millennial return.

The Person of the Holy Spirit:

We believe that He executes the Plan of God for our conviction and salvation. Christians are indwelt by the Holy Spirit and empowered by Him for service. We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity.

The Genesis Account of Creation:

We believe the Genesis account of creation was a direct act of God, literal twenty-four hour days, instantaneous and miraculous. We believe man was created in the image of God and all reproductions were "after their kind"

The Fall of Man:

We believe that man was created in the image of God and by choice fell into sin and death. Hence, every person is sinful and under condemnation to eternal judgment.

The Salvation of Sinners:

We believe that the salvation of sinners is wholly by grace, and that Jesus Christ is the only way of salvation. A sinner is saved through repentance, and by faith.

The Freeness of Salvation:

We believe that the blessings of salvation are made free by the Gospel, that nothing prevents the salvation of the greatest sinner but his own inherent depravity and voluntary rejection of the Gospel.

The Security of the Believer:

We believe that those who receive Jesus Christ as Savior are eternally secure. Our security rests on the finished work of Jesus Christ. As a result, we have assurance.

The Doctrine of the Church:

We believe that the visible church is a congregation of baptized believers, practicing New Testament Principles, believing its doctrines, observing its ordinances, and exercising its autonomy.

Doctrine of Heaven and Hell:

We believe that Heaven and Hell are real, literal, physical places. Heaven is a place of indescribable beauty and glory, in the same way hell is a place of indescribable torment and punishment. Throughout all eternity Heaven will be the final eternal dwelling place of the saved, and hell will be the place of eternal punishment, and separation from God for the lost.

Current Trends in Theology:

We take our stand reguarding the current trends that lead to discrediting the Bible and undermining the fundamentals of the faith. We take a separatist stand against Neo-orthodoxy, Neo-evangelicalism, the Ecumenical movement and the modern Tongues movement.

Human Sexuality:

We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity should occur outside of marriage between a man and a woman. We believe that any form of homosexuality, lesbianism, bisexuality, bestiality, incest, fornication, adultery, and pornography are sinful perversions of God's gift of sex.

Abortion:

We believe that human life begins at conception and that the unborn child is a living human being. Abortion constitutes the unjustified, unexcused taking of unborn human life.

Divorce and Remarriage:

We believe that God intends for marriage to be permanent, "until death do us part." The Word of God clearly states that remarriage after divorce is regarded as adultery. Persons which have been divorced may hold certain positions of service in the local church, and can be greatly used of God for Christian service. However, they may not be considered for the office of pastor or deacon.

Baptism and the Lord's Supper:

We believe that there are two ordinances of the local church: Baptism, and the Lord's supper. Scriptural baptism of believers, by immersion in water, in the name of the Father, of the Son, and the Holy Spirit. This pictures the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ for our sins, and shows that we belong to Christ. It is to be administered by the authority of the Local New Testament Baptist church, and is a prerequisite to the privileges of a church relation, and to the Lord's supper. The Lord's supper is a memorial ordinance for the local church according to the individual examination and teaching of 1st Corinthians 11:12-34. The unleavened bread and the fruit of the vine (unfermented grape juice) are to commemorate together, the dying love of Christ.

Soul Winning and Missions:

We believe that the great command to evangelize the world was given to the local New Testament Church by our risen Lord and that this evangelization is the mission of every believer and the local church. For these reasons we have regular organized soul winning efforts, as well as, participation both individually and corporately in Faith Promise Missions Giving.
