Waxing philosophical, waning intellectual
When is Braintree live next?
- Who knows? I don't.

Lyrics...

[ from pillar to post ]

He didn't want her to leave him
For another man, a stronger plan
She didn't want him to come home
Early again, to avoid the end
We try so hard to forget

Holding on to nine-to-five apathy
Complex anatomy of this maudlin waltz
We try so hard to forget

CHORUS:
(About) Cobwebs in wombs, teratogen tombs
That remind us of morality
Casting aside the rules of the ride
To believe in mortality
We're running from pillar to post (x2)

Slow down...

CHORUS

Slow down
And PTFO
Enjoy the view
It's all over soon

CHORUS (x2)

The story...

"Pretty little ditty about the realization that some day, everyone who lives will someday die and die alone, and how the concept of 'true love' fits in with all of that. It's a really uplifting number, I've been contacted by Disney about its use in an upcoming family film due out spring '07.

It's an interesting song in that it vascillates between 3/4 and 6/8 times, and manages to sway and jerk and bounce at all the right times. It's got a really big hook in the chorus, and an interesting little key change into the middle eight. Dynamics are fun."
