Email BVHERO
Our activities are planned by our members, based on their interests. If you're planning an event and would like to publicize it to BVHERO members, email bvheroes@hotmail.com. Please include the date, time, street address (so a map can be provided), contact person (with phone and/or email), a brief description, and who is welcome (BVHERO members only or all homeschoolers). We will forward the information to BVHERO members via our email list. (Members can do this themselves by posting directly to the list.) We will publicize non-BVHERO events if we believe they may be of interest to BVHERO members
The BVHERO eGroup is an online email list that automatically forwards your post to every member subscribed to the eGroup. eGroup mail can be received as individual posts, a digest, or viewed online. BVHERO eGroup is a private group for BVHERO members only. To be added to the group, email bvheroes@hotmail.com, and request to be added to the eGroup. After you have been added, you can change your preferences (such as daily digest vs. individual emails), by going to Yahoo! Groups and click on "eGroups Users Link your accounts here".
Go to http://groups.yahoo.com/mygroups/ click on the register button and enter the info to create a yahoo account. Then click on my groups wizard. Enter your egroups email & password, then enter your yahoo password. The system will then automatically merge the two accounts. (HINT: Open another browser window, so you can read these instructions while you go through the process.) If you don't create a yahoo account, you will still be able to access through egroups for the time being. (At some point in the future, however, you will lose access to the account, so you might as well get it done now.

BVHERO is not responsible for verifying whether or not a member is an “official” homeschooler.
BVHERO does not promote membership cards to be used as a registered homeschooling identification card. BVHERO membership cards are merely confirmation of BVHERO membership.
With proper verification you too can qualify for an educator's discount card, good for up to 20% off, at many local stores, including AC Moore, Michaels, Book Fair, Borders, Barnes & Noble.
BVHERO suggests that you try using a copy of the paperwork that most Departments of Education (DOE) give you when you registered as a homeschooler or make up a card of your own with your personal information on it. Other suggestions welcome.
