Dmitriy Grigoriev |
Name: Dmitriy Grigoriev, Gregorov or something; he isn't too sure about that (it's actually Grigorev). He hardly uses the name Dmitriy and instead is either called Slim or Fox (or even Foxy), depending on who it is and what they want. The name on his ID is Aleksej Mikhail Stepanov. Age: 17, will however claim to be 21 Sex: male Race/Nationality: Human/Russian American Theme Song: 'Blaze of Glory' by Bon Jovi or 'Kassaka' by Leningrad Cowboys Faction: Civilian Likes: Food, seemingly regardless of taste and nutrition value he will eat it...fast; Vodka, he is a true Russian^^; the sky at night; a smooth job; fast cars Dislikes: Prison and the police; milk, he can't stand the stuff; drugs and users, he sees what it does to people nearly every day Strength: His talents are closely connected to his line of work. He's a pick-pocket and a skilled lock picker. He's fast, what is only to be expected, considering that running off is his usual way of avoiding pain and/or jail and he's had mostly success in that regard. He normally always keeps a cool head, even when he's in danger. What he's really good at, is charming his way out of tight situations or getting his way. If he really wants to, there are not many that can resist his charms. This seems to be just natural charm at the moment, but later, when this ability becomes stronger (namely level four and five), it will get clear, that it is more like magic. An ability related to mind control, but it's more like a strong persuasion than any control. Weakness: Dmitriy is not a fighter, never was. Normally he would run, hide or charm himself out of a fight, but if that doesn't work he's screwed. He isn't particular strong, he's surely not one to work out, and has no formal or informal training in combat if you don't count a few street fights he hadn't been able to avoid. He's never seen a school from the inside due to his childhood, which means he has no normal education. He's not stupid and can read and write English and Russian, but there are so many things he just doesn't know. There is another thing, that could be interpreted as a weakness, although he's not really aware of that himself. He sometimes sees things that are not really there, as well as hearing voices, which happens more often. Sometimes he just ignores it, sometimes he reacts to those things, freaking most people, out. Sometimes he notices that other people can't see/hear those things, but more often than not he doesn't. Basic Description of how character looks: The young man has thick, dirty blond hair, that's just long enough to hang slightly into his green eyes. It's always in varying degrees of disarray, which is completely accidently. His prominent but regular features make him quite handsome, although not remarkably so. He's neither short nor tall with 5'10” and his lean build shows from where he got his nickname. He has no tattoos or piercings, since he had always been able to avoid joining a gang, and only minor scars from his youth on the streets. Dmitriy looks older than 17, more like the 21 stated in his fake ID, a fact useful to him, both in regard to his jobs as his drinking habits. He's mostly seen in old, often ripped jeans and casual shirts or t-shirts when not on the job, when he is, he keeps to the more practical t-shirts or tighter long-sleeved shirts in cold weather and is clothed completely in black. He's got an older leather jacket he loves and is rarely seen without and normally wears heavy black boots, but prefers sneakers while working. List of items or weapons carried: His only weapons are two knives concealed under his clothes, he always carries those with him. He also has his favourite set of lock-picks, as well as his fake ID. After years living without one, he acquired the ID from...'a friend'. It's a really good one and has fooled even the police up until now. He's got a glass cutter, but carries it only with him, when he thinks he's going to need it. Profile: While Dmitriy knows how to keep in the shadows and to avoid attention, he's a very outgoing and gregarious person. He has practically always a wide, disarming smile on his handsome face and a joke at the ready, which together with a good portion of generosity, makes him quite popular. There are few who wouldn't drink with him. He is also quite good with the women and even if most women who frequent his favourite bar ('Night's Old Crow' or simply called the 'Crow' by it's regulars, which is owned by an older Russian, now a friend of him) and his employer's strip club/brothel ('Flaming Pleasure', he really hates that name), the two places where he spends most of his time, are prostitutes, he seldom has to pay for any...pleasures, only if they really need the money. He is quite mature for his age, probably because he had to care for himself very early in his life and because he's right down there, he knows how nasty life can get and has experienced it himself. So his innocence was lost long ago. He is known and respected in the underworld, due to his abilities and professionalism. For most of them he's simply the fox, for his friends he's Slim or if they know him very good maybe even Dmitriy, for the women he's sometimes Foxy, mostly Slim and for one even Dmitriy. And for the police and those that are not part of his world he's Aleksej Stepanov. Sometimes, but really only very seldom as he indeed tends to be a bit carefree, he wonders if all those are not different persons and if so, who is he himself. The fox, the cold, professional criminal? Slim, the loud and friendly young man, who loves to get drunk with his friends? Foxy, the young lover of seemingly most females in his district? Or Dmitriy, a boy who had to grow up too fast, who hears voices and does his best to live in a hostile world? In truth he's probably all of that, it is just sometimes easier to differentiate between all of his 'personalities'. Dmitriy has never met his father and he seriously doubts his mother knows who it was, that fathered him all those years ago. His mother was and is a whore in a run-down brothel and that is where Dmitriy was born. Not a good place to start a life, but it wasn't as if he could have chosen that, was it? Micha, his mother, was often overburdened with the task of caring for the unwanted child and as soon as it was possible, let him take care of most things himself. The money she earned was hardly enough to feed one of them, especially after she became addicted to drugs when everything got too much for her. So the child had to get money himself. At first he went begging on the streets, but soon the six-year old realized, that he wouldn't get far that way. Instead he watched the older kids he had noticed while begging. The kids were part of a small gang of streetkids who got by with pick-pocketing and purse-cutting. When he thought he had seen enough, he tried it himself and after being caught a few times and being beaten up and chased away by the gang from their territory, he began earning his money that way, somewhere else of course, and became quite good at it after a while. He was pretty sure, that he didn't want to live from pick-pocketing all his life, but for the time being it was enough. Since he didn't go to school, hell, for the state he didn't even exist, he was taught to read and write in English and Russian and to count and calculate, by the brothels 'patron', who took a liking to the bright boy. He was picked up by the police a few times and brought to orphanages, from where he always fled as soon as possible. In more than one of those the children were locked up in their rooms during the night, which made fleeing a lot harder, until he met one boy, who showed him how to open the door's lock with a simple piece of wire. From then on he was even sooner gone from the hated places. As he got older, he used his new skill to break into houses, and earn his money that way rather than pick-pocketing, although he still used that particular skill sometimes. Nearly at the same time he changed his career, he left his mother and took his own small apartment in a different district. He made quite a sum, especially when he started to break into shops as well, so he had only few money problems. When he was fifteen, he was introduced to the man, who should become his employer, by the one to whom he sold his stolen goods. The criminal boss, Ivan Kryzenkovich, just called 'Boss' by his employees, gave Dmitriy a chance to prove himself valuable for the man, a chance Dmitriy took. He now works for the man, still mostly breaking into different places, even if the things he steals often differentiate now from those he took back when he was on his own, but often helps with other crimes, like smuggling for example. Something he learned from one of his 'co-workers', a young man, only a few years older than him called Rou, who is now his best friend, has become nearly something like a bad habit. Rou showed him how to short circuit cars and motor-bikes and now he often takes a car or bike he likes for a little 'ride', either alone or together with Rou. Mostly he leaves it somewhere in the city, sometimes he sells it to a certain garage he knows, also owned by Kryzenkovich. He has only visited his mother, for whom he feels little if any love, a few times since he left her, but he still sends her a bit money every month, feeling that he has fulfilled his duty to the woman who bore him with that. Beside stealing a car here and there just for fun, his only other (real) bad habit is getting drunk. He is by no means an alcoholic, but when he drinks he does it right. It doesn't matter that he can hold his liquor quite well, because no matter how high the alcohol tolerance is, as long as he doesn't stop, when he has enough, he's going to be pissing drunk anyway. Most are however glad that he's a 'happy drunk' and develops no violent tendencies. While he is quite content with his life at the moment, he fears to end up alone and poor, when he becomes too old for his job. So, while he knows, that he will probably never be able to leave the scene (and he's not even too sure if he would be happy without the normal thrills of his life), he wishes to marry a girl he likes and to find a legal job, from which he can live, sometime in the future. It's just a dream for him, as he doubts that he will grow old and thinks that it's far more likely for him to die on the job. |
