Important Terms:
These are phrases and expressions commonly used in the world of Clockwork Alibi, presented in no particular order.  What?  Alphabetical order is hard work.  Don't give me that look.

Nightblade: See Faction page

Neo-Nightblade: See Faction page

Resolution: See Faction page

Civilian: See Faction page

Pulse Device: A small, inexpensive machine that tears a hole in space-time, allowing time travel.

Flux Disrupter: A false Pulse Device that opens Tangent Universes rather than allowing time travel.

The Collapse: The cataclysmic event that occurred when time travel was discovered and too many people altered the past at once.  It nearly caused the end of the world, but was reversed by the Nightblades.  Now, only government officials and government sponsored factions know that it happened.

The Second Collapse: The government’s name for the possible event in which time travel is re-discovered and space-time collapses once again.

Tangent Universe: A parallel universe constructed around one person by the use of a Flux Disrupter.

Disrupted Tangent: A tangent universe that will not close, and has some Threads leading back to the True Timeline.

The True Timeline: The timeline that the real world is running on.

Threads: People, places, or things that connect a Disrupted Tangent to the True Timeline.  They must be eliminated in order to close the Tangent Universe.  If a Thread is introduced to a Tangent Universe, it has a higher possibility of becoming a Disrupted Tangent.

Time Contamination: The introduction of modern technology or ideas to a past culture, thereby altering the future and creating Threads.
