Skills
Skills in Clockwork Alibi work like this:
You choose your skills (Up to 3) upon joining.  They all start out at level one.  As you use them, they will go up in level (Up to 5).  Yes, magic counts as a skill.  Here’s an example:

Skill:  Telekinesis – The ability to move objects with one’s mind.

Level One: Can move small objects through the air.
Level Two: Can move medium sized objects (like chairs) along flat surfaces.
Level Three: Can move medium sized objects through the air.
Level Four: Can move large objects (Like cars and people) along flat surfaces.
Level Five:  Can move large objects through the air.

The skills will progress like that, starting out small and building into something really powerful.  However, if you abuse your skill to a ridiculous extent (for instance, using telekinesis to life up a skyscraper and throw it into the sun), it won’t work, and it’ll probably cause some kind of injury.  The speed at which you learn new skills and gain skill levels is determined by your intelligence rating.

You can use pretty much any skill you can make up, so long as it isn’t insanely powerful (As in, world-endingly, ocean-dryingly, sun-explodingly powerful) and it is explained in your character’s history.  For instance, you could say that everyone in your character’s family is born with telekinesis and they taught him/her how to use it.

Some example skills would be:

Computer hacking, mind-reading, weather manipulation, pickpocketing, lock-picking, etc.
