Dear finswimming-lovers: coaches, sportsmen, organizers. With a knowledge of CMAS Executive bureau decision of rules modification (relative to new monofins), we appeal to all persons concerned with suggestion to speak on this question. Finswimming is our life-work at present time. All of us train for 6 - 8 hours a day, we achieved positive results in finswimming, and now we can't be indifferent about approaching changes.

A lot of experiments with different kinds of fins were held last four years, and can say with certainty that new generation fins are much comfortable, less traumatism dangerous, than old models. This can be confirmed by competent doctors and masseurs, working with us.

Using these fins during training process and competitions gave us opportunity for much better results. At World and Europe Championships we see that majority of leading sportsmen from different countries use new monofins, and we know their good opinion about that fins. It's no wonder that all of world champions-2002 swim in new fins.

At the same time we know the real reasons for prohibitions of new fins. No one asked our, our friends' and rivals' opinion. If this is not true, could you name those sportsmen, whose opinion was taken into consideration. Please, realize that rules changes apply to us first of all! All we know the opinion of Greek coach (he trains Papoutsidi). He says that new fins traumatize sportsmen's back and unhealthy at all. But such a significant decision can not be taken, guided by opinion of two experts or even two federations!

On two attached still images from World Championship 2002 you can see two starting final heats: 400 meters immersion (women) and 400 meters surface (men). Consider the number of fins that comply with new requirements? That's right - it is the only sportswomen on lane four - Papoutsidi!

When we train together with young sportsmen, we see how quickly they learn finswimming technique, swim for long distances without any problems with ankles, tiredness or muscle overstrain.

Thanks to this fins, we will know a lot of new brilliant names in finswimming soon. We are fully confident and look forward, that new equipment will increase rivalry on competitions, improve results, and, hence attract more persons interested in finswimming, audience, patrons and sponsors.

We appeal to all sportsmen to support us and recommend to CMAS Executive bureau to pay more attention to sportsmen's opinion.

We will have to agree to any decision of CMAS Executive bureau, but we hope this decision will be progressive, and it will allow our technical sport to develop dynamically.
