The costume is made out of baby blue sweatshirt material, so it has the thickness of an overcoat for a doll. The thin sleeves are made from the stretchy material at the bottom of a sweatshirt, so it fits her arms exactly. Because the original costume was not very interesting I made a few alterations to it. There is a little extra ribbon around the sleeves and there is a larger collar lined with ribbon around the neck. In the second picture you see the leg warmer I added; I thought it made the outfit a little more realistic. The ribbon sash ties it together and it tied in a bow like the original costume (though you can't see it in the picture).
The coat is over the doll's original costume. The hair was curled by me, because I thought the doll's original hair was much too straight. Without the curls I didn't think the doll had much of a similarity to the Wendy. The picture at the bottom right shows Wendy flying in the corner of my collectibles room. I thought I would put the clip and string to good use. |
