Darkling Dawn Draco's Inferno Weyr

How she despised it all, having to leave her friends behind for some unknown world. Leaving them to who-knows-what kind of danger on this planet and the next. Fona did not like it. It seemed to her that Venia was trying to split them up, keep them apart and postpone their attempt at freeing Aether from the Atrox's invasion. But what was she to say of it? It had come from the mouth of Akarui, Venia's Chosen One, as it were. She, only a little Mage of Water was nobody's chosen one, only friend to those who dwelled in the sea. Still, she must follow what the others did. For all their sakes.

When Kokuuzou indicated it was her turn, she stepped only slightly nervously forward. Mayoke placed one silver talon to her forehead and wove some kind of spell with the opposite hand. In an instant, Fona felt herself being swallowed by a great, flowing blackness like descending into the deepest reaches of the ocean. It swelled around her, moved with a mind and a purpose. Before long, she sensed something coming toward her in the blue-blackness, like a huge beast stalking just beyond her field of vision. When it attacked, Fona threw her arms up in defence as it's icy breath flowed over her.

"Up, up little raindrop. Your destination is found." Mayoke was gently tugging Fona's arm to get her to rise off of knees she didn't remember falling to. That great, heavy presence from the "dream" seemed to still be following her at the back of her mind, waiting for a vulnerable moment to pounce. "You okay?" Silvus rumbled concernedly. He reached out a hand to pull her upright and nearly lifted her from the ground with unknown force. "I-I believe so..." she said a little more shakily than she felt was warranted.

Gently clearing his throat, Kokuuzou drew her attention to himself. "Come Fona, it is time." he said, beginning the spell with his own talons, drawing the marks too quickly for any but him to see. She nodded and glanced around at her remaining friends, struggling to find some way to impress upon them all how she cared for them and wished them such luck with their own travels. Before she could even open her mouth properly an icy blackness overwhelmed her.

At first she thought that creature had made it's move and swallowed her finally into it's freezing maw, but she realized it was only Kokuuzou's spell taking effect. Still, the numbing cold and darkness pressing upon her eyeballs was unsettling. Fona struggled to contain her composure. Just as she was sure she couldn't restrain the screams any longer warm sunshine broke across her face, her shoulders, her back...she was freed from the void. And suddenly in mid-air! The shock of abruptly noticing this caused Fona to bugle as the instinct to spread her wings kicked in.

The water mage fell easily into a landing spiral over the huge, bowl-like structure that was teeming with fellow dragons. "Flying is a lot like swimming." she mused happily as she backwinged to land, managing to disturb as little dust as possible. Once on the ground, she folded her wings neatly to her back and glanced around. The walls of this place were fairly dripping with dragons of varying breeds and colors.

Idly she wandered for hours, inspecting the lower levels she had access to, (she disliked her human form, for some reason. It seemed ill-fitting.) and winging back into the sky to get a better look. With another happy bugle, Fona spotted a large lake near the end of the bowl and pelted for it eagerly. Dragons nearby gave small bugles of startlement and warning as she dove straight for the silvery surface, then disappeared beneath it without leaving behind so much as a ripple. She swum contentedly there, tasting the sweet water and meeting the local sealife.

On her way out she came upon a most peculiar creature. It was finned and tailed like some kind of fish, but had paws and fur like some kind of land mammal. She wanted to question it further about it's origins but as soon as it took sight of the huge blue dragon so close to itself, it let out a stream of bubbles and flitted off for the deeps. It left behind a small nest of eggs underwater. Curious, Fona gently took one from the muddy hollow and carried it with her to the surface.

She rose from the water like she entered it, with nary a ripple or drip, and made her way to land with the egg clutched close to her body. I was wondering when you were going to come up for a breath. a masculine voice filled Fona's mind as she absently waded up from the water. Startled, she looked around for the source and spotted a lone blue lying upon a ridge and watching her with a bemused expression.

The blue dragoness very nearly blushed. "Oh, you were watching me?" The blue nodded. Leastly because I've never seen a dragon stay underwater for that long without a breath, and mostly because I think you would make a fine candidate for the clutch we have on the sands. My name is Rigelth, by the way. Fona blinked. "Clutch? On the sands? What do you mean?" she asked, confused and still clutching the small egg in her forepaw. Well, isn't that what you came here for? To find something you need? I believe the smaller clutch on the sands could hold such a thing...would you like to see?

Whuffing softly in mild irritation, Fona cast an eye in the direction the blue kept referring to. A huge, dark opening that led into a cavernous, sandy place. She'd popped in there when she had first arrived, only to be snarled at by some female tending her eggs. "Is it just you, or are all native dragons so cryptic?" she asked sarcastically. Rigelth rumbled in amusement. It's just me...Would you like to take me up on my offer, though? There is no way you can lose. The water mage sighed, seeing she wasn't going to get a straight answer from this male. "Very well. I just hope that you'll tell me how to sign up for it straight-forwardly." Rigelth just rumbled again...
