Bill Walsh busy at the Trade deadline!
Rynos G.M. Bill Walsh worked over time on Wednesday the last day for trades in the UFFA. Walsh wanted to do what he could to upgrade the Rynos QB situation or the 3rd WR spot. The first transaction made was a deal with the Stallions to send up and comer Jerry Porter along with hot and cold WR Corey Bradford, for the solid veteran Tim Brown and RB Tiki Barber coming off a few very good games. After this trade was announced rumors were surfacing that Shaun Alexander would be benched in favor of Barber. Just when the rumors started to take off Barber was then dealt to the Wolfpack for last weeks Player of the Week Plaxico Burress and QB Tim Couch. Curtis Conway was also sent to the Wolfpack as part of the deal. Here's what Rynos owner Dan Wever had to say: " I am very pleased with the work that Bill has done I have complete faith in his football decisions. We wanted a little more fire power at the #3 WR slot and I think we just got it. Plaxico is young fast and strong, there is no reason to think that he can't continue to put up the numbers that he has as of late. We add depth with Tim Brown and Tim Couch. This is what we had to do to continue to compete in the league and especially our division. We looked very bad against the Roscoes last week they came to play and they have turned into a very deep strong team and we play the Tattoo Crew next week which will be just as tough. This is a very very strong division and we are just trying to keep up. If we can take the Crew and win out we should get a bye week. And if we go all the way we will be facing more tough competition like the NightHawks who are just rolling over every one. I think Bill ahs put us in place to compete for a title."
