INTRODUCTION:     This is Franklin's branch of the Markley Family Tree in pictures and text. It covers Franklin's growing up years, married years, and a basic coverage of 9 generations of Markleys from Franklin's granddaughter Kelly Frances Markley back to the oldest known American ancestor, John Markley of Somerset Co.Pa.      The information contained here has been collected from what is belived to be reliable sources, including personal letters and diaries kept by Rev. F. G. Markley, A HISTORY OF THE MARKLEY RELATIONSHIP by Joseph M. Markley, and from documented information found in Somerset Co., Penn. and Ashland Co., Ohio.

Franklin is the fourth child of Rev. Franklin Guy and Gertrude Ethel Wagoner Markley. He was born Feb. 27, 1926 in Hamilton, Ohio. He had 3 sisters: Helen Ruth, Naomi Lois, and Cleo Twylight. He married Gladys May Henry on Oct. 19, 1946. 1943 - Canton, Ohio

Being a PK (preacher's kid), Franklin moved many times while growing up in Ohio.The first move was to Norwood. While living there all three of Franklin's sisters were married and made their homes in the Dayton/Cincinnati area. After leaving his sisters behind, Franklin and his parents also lived in Marion, Toledo, Akron, Niles, and Canton, where Rev. and Mrs. Markley's last child left  the nest. Franklin attended McKinley High School in Canton. In 1943 he joined the army.
