UNDERSTANDING THE END-TIME EVENTS
There are three distinct periods of great suffering or judgment during the endtime era and they are: [1] The Great Tribulation, [2] The Wrath of Satan, and [3] The Wrath of God.
These three periods are different from one another, but unfortunately were mistaken by bible teachers as a single or possibly two different periods. The Great Tribulation has always been misunderstood as the Wrath of Satan. These caused a lot of confusion, resulting in doctrines of a) pre-tribulation, b) mid-tribulation and c) post-tribulation Rapture and even d) post-Millennium Rapture.
The Period of Sorrow is the era of great sorrow to God for many of His children (Christians) will be deceived. During this period, which is the later part of the 4th. Seal, the whole world will be suffering from the release of weapons of mass destruction. These worldwide religious wars and terrorism will kill by the millions and millions. A total of 1/4 of all mankind will be killed during this short period. False christs (self-professed or ‘anointed’ e.g. Jezebel in Rev 3:20), who are also well-known and highly esteemed Christian teachers and leaders (Pharisees), will mislead Christians by their so called new doctrines (based on worldly wisdom) or doctrines of demons (destructive heresies). These doctrines destroy the faith of Christian in God, in Jesus’ complete work on the cross and in His Word and Promises. For peace and security, they will teach Christians to compromise the power of the message of the Cross with other religions. The conquest of Jerusalem by the Antichrist will be the beginning of the Period of Sorrows. Being highly regarded by the Muslims, he will then proceed to remove the el aqsa mosque on the Temple Mount. He will then bring back the Jews to build the temple of God there for Allah the God of Abraham.
Note: Jehovah is the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob. To the Muslims, Allah is only the God of Abraham, and not the God of Isaac nor the God of Jacob. Thus, Allah is not Jehovah.
Immediately this will bring in religious harmony and peace to the region. All Jews, Christians and muslims there will respect and worship this one God - the God of Abraham in Jerusalem. This temple will take about 3 years to complete. During this time, the Antichrist ruling in the whole Middle East (or `New Babylonian Empire') will have complete peace, security and prosperity. All the nations who have submitted to him will have religious harmony, and all the other nations will have suffer great from the religious wars and terrorism. The Antichrist will then be highly respected worldwide and considered a prophet of God by Jews, Christians and Muslims. Immediately, after the completion of the temple, he will dedicate it to the God of Abraham as in the days of King Solomon.
Note: Every Christian's physical body is the temple of God. Thus, when the temple is dedicated to God, He will not be able to accept another physical temple. The Devil, knowing this, uses this wicked scheme to deceived the Jews and Christians.
However, during the dedication of the temple of God by the Jewish Priesthood, the whole temple will be filled with cloud and brightness like the glory of God. The priests will run out of the temple just like in the dedication of the temple of God during the reign of king Solomon.
And it came to pass, when the priests came out of the holy place, that the cloud filled the house of the LORD, so that the priests could not continue ministering because of the cloud; for the glory of the LORD filled the house of the LORD. I King 8:10-11
After the cloud clears the priest will enter the temple and there they will be surprise to see the Antichrist standing in the Holy Place. At once, they will bow down to worship him as Emmanuel, Messiah and God. If this event is view live on TV, then many godly Christians will also be deceived. This will be the beginning of the Period of Great Tribulation or Great Deception.
"Therefore when you see the 'abomination of desolation [Antichrist],' spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place [Temple of God]" (whoever reads, let him understand),......For then there will be great tribulation," Matt 24:15,21a
This period will only begin after the `man of sin' (Antichrist) is revealed and standing in the Holy Place (Temple of God) proclaiming himself god.
“Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (whoever reads, let him understand), then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountain… For then there will be great tribulation….” Matt 24:15-16, 21
False christs (deceived Christian leaders), who with the empowering of the devil to perform great signs and wonders, will convince even the very `elect of God’ (these are His disciples who hold true to the Word of God and not just testimonies) to accept distorted truth and heresies and to worship the Antichrist. This period is only a very short period (possibly a few weeks) for the elect’s sake. False prophets (antichrists especially the man of sin, who called himself the messiah) with their signs and wonders may proclaim that all religions are the same and those who believe in the new messiah (man of sin) will also be saved. With the assistance of the false christs, they will bring in the One World Religion of peace and harmony for all mankind. All those who rejects these heresies will be persecuted by fellow Christians (deceived) and betrayed to the Antichrist for judgment and death.
“For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened. Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘There!’ do not believe it. For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.” Matt 24:21-24
A time of great deception by the Devil's agent, the Antichrist. He will devise numerous and deadly sinister scheme to misled Christians. He will destroy many Christians (holy people) in deceiving them to worship him.
"And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors have reached
their fullness, a king shall arise, having fierce features, who understands
sinister schemes. His power shall be mighty, but not by his own
power; he shall destroy fearfully, and shall prosper and thrive; he
shall destroy the mighty, and also the holy people. Through his cunning
he shall cause deceit to prosper under his rule; and he shall exalt himself
in his heart. He shall destroy many in their prosperity. He shall even rise
against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without human means."
Dan 8:23-25
“Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.” Matt 24:29-30
The Rapture is the time where the overcomers are taken up to heaven at the appearance of Jesus Christ in the cloud. At the twinkling of the eye the mortal bodies will be changed to the glorious bodies. The dead in Christ (only the elect) will rise first, then followed by those who are still alive.
“And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.” Matt 24:31

These are the true disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ. They have loved the Lord with all their hearts, with all their souls, with all their might, and with all their strength. They are holy and have considered this world unworthy of them. They have endured to the end holding fast the faith in the complete work of the cross and the resurrection power of Jesus, and have lived out their lives according to the teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ. They have not strayed to the left or right.
Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection. Col 3:12-14
We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers, remembering without ceasing your work of faith, labor of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ in the sight of our God and Father, knowing, beloved brethren, your election by God. 1Thes 1:2-4
They have made their calling and election sure (considered as the elect by God) by their diligence in their working out of their faith. They are not hypocrites but live out their faith. They have the knowledge and understanding of the mysteries of our Lord Jesus Christ. They have believed in the complete work on the cross whereby their old sins were dealt with by the blood of the Lamb once and for all. In every respect they have not denied Him but have obeyed Him according to all His Teachings and they are fearless in exposing the deception of the evil one.
But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins. Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble; for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. 2 Pet 1:5-11
Therefore I endure all things for the sake of the elect, that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory. This is a faithful saying: for if we died with Him, we shall also live with Him. If we endure, we shall also reign with Him. If we deny Him, he also will deny us. 2 Tim 2:10-12
“If you ask anything in My name, I will do it. If you love Me, keep My commandments.” John 14:14-15
Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father’s who sent Me.” John 14:23-24
They shall not build and another inhabit; they shall not plant and another eat; for as the days of a tree, so shall be the days of My people, and My elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands. They shall not labor in vain, nor bring forth children for trouble; for they shall be the descendants of the blessed of the LORD, and their offspring with them. It shall come to pass that before they call, I will answer; and while they are still speaking, I will hear.” Isa 65:22-24
What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. Rom 8:31-33
For they themselves declare concerning us what manner of entry we had to you, and how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God, and to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, even Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come. 1Thes 1:9-1
But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of salvation. For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, that whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with Him. 1Thes 5:8-10
"But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly. For it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man." Luke 21:34-36
Immediately after the Rapture, the overcomers and the Holy Spirit will be taken back to heaven by our Lord Jesus. It is a period of great suffering for Christians (left behind) after the devil was cast down to earth. This will only happen after the Rapture. Christian’s faith at this moment will be very strong for they had just witnessed the Rapture. These Christians are just like Thomas for they now believe because they have seen. {The overcomers who were raptured were more blessed for they believed (by holding on to God’s word and promises) though they had not seen}. The Beast (the Devil's incarnate) will persecute and pour out his wrath on the church (all those Christians left behind after the Rapture) for a period of three and a half years. However, all those saints who hold onto the faith in Jesus Christ and endure to the end will be highly rewarded.
“Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you who dwell in them! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has a short time. Now when the dragon saw that he had been cast to the earth, he persecuted the woman who gave birth to the male Child. But the woman was given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness to her place, where she is nourished for a time and times and half a time, from the presence of the serpent.” Rev 12:12-14
This will be the period whereby the mark of the beast ‘666’ will be introduced. Everyone without this mark will not be able to but or sell. It is a trying time for Christians, whereby the properties of Christians will be confiscated. It is a period of great persecution and martyrdom of Christians, who refuse to accept the ‘666’ mark or bow down to the ‘image of the beast’.
So they worshiped the dragon who gave authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, “Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?” And he was given a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies, and he was given authority to continue for forty-two months. Then he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme His name, His tabernacle, and those who dwell in heaven. It was granted to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them. And authority was given him over every tribe, tongue, and nation. Rev 13:4-7
He was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed. He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man: His number is 666. Rev 13:15-18
However during these three and a half years, God will provide for all those, who did not bow down to the image or accept the mark of the beast.
Then the woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared by God, that they should feed her there one thousand two hundred and sixty days. Rev 12:6
But the woman was given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness to her place, where she is nourished for a time and times and half a time, from the presence of the serpent. Rev 12:14
Only those, who hold on to the faith of the complete work of Jesus on the cross and the faithfulness of God’s Word in their lives and love not their life will be able to withstand the onslaught of the Devil. They must endure the deception, persecution, torture and killing of their loved ones too. Without the help of the Holy Spirit, it will seem almost impossible to be victorious in overcoming the full wrath of the Devil himself.
“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.” Rev 12:11
Here is the patience of the saints; here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus. Then I heard a voice from heaven saying to me, “Write: ‘Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.’” “Yes,” says the Spirit, “that they may rest from their labors, and their works follow them.” Rev 14:12-13
All the overcomers during the period of the wrath of the devil will receive their rewards for they are martyred for Christ’s sake. They too will also be counted worthy to be part of the first resurrection.
And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was committed to them. Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands. And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. But the rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years. Rev 20:4-6
“If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives his mark on his forehead or on his hand, he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God,
Immediately after the wrath of the devil, God will pour His wrath upon all those who have bowed down to the devil and have taken the mark of the beast or `666' on their foreheads or hands. This will be the period of the curses of the 7 Trumpets or 7 Bowls.
Then a third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, “If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives his mark on his forehead or on his hand, he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out full strength into the cup of His indignation. He shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name.” Rev 14:9-11
Then I heard a loud voice from the temple saying to the seven angels, “Go and pour out the bowls of the wrath of God on the earth.” Rev 16:1
This will be the time of great suffering. Many will want to seek death because the pain will be so intolerable but death will be far from them.
Then out of the smoke locusts came upon the earth. And to them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power. They were commanded not to harm the grass of the earth, or any green thing, or any tree, but only those men who do not have the seal of God on their foreheads. And they were not given authority to kill them, but to torment them for five months. And their torment was like the torment of a scorpion when it strikes a man. In those days men will seek death and will not find it; they will desire to die, and death will flee from them. Rev 9:3-6
During this period the 2 witnesses of God will arise and deliver Jerusalem from the hands of the anti-Christ. At the death of the 2 witnesses (after 3 1/2 years of ministry) Jesus will stand on Mount Olive to deliver Jerusalem from captivity in the battle of Armageddon. After the cleansing of the land by burying the dead, our Lord Jesus with the saints in the 1st. resurrection will return (2nd. Coming) to begin His millennium rule.
