The series was origionally susposed to be 39 episodes, but there were budget cuts, now there are only 26 episodes.

Fox Kids is now showing Escaflowne on Saturdays. They have made numerious cuts, including the whole first episode!!

An early name for Van was Dai Ginga before it became Van Fanel.

Sakamoto Ma'aya is the Japanese voice actress of Hitomi. She is a high school student like the girl that she plays. She has sung some songs for the series, including the beautiful opening theme.

In the American version, Van's voice (voiced by Kirby Morrow) is by the same person as Trowa from Gundam Wing and Allen is Zechs from the same series! He also has done the voice of Michaelangelo in The Teenage Muntant Ninga Turtles!!
