I've decided to use this page to post honest reviews of all the various diet pills I've tried. While I'm not encouraging anyone to take them, I know that many of you will, so you may find these reviews helpful.

Please bear in mind that I am in the UK (where a lot of pills are not widely available), and that you should not mix your diet pills.

XENICAL
This is the most expensive pill I have ever used, but it also really works. It's a fat absorber, so won't suppress appetite, but will stop the fat from beign absorbed in digestion. As I follow a fairly low fat diet, I never had any nasty side effects, but it can cause strange things to happen!

Generic Name: orlistat (OR lih stat)
Brand Names: Xenical

• Orlistat blocks some of the fat that you eat from being absorbed by your body.
• Orlistat is used in the management of obesity including weight loss and weight maintenance when used with a reduced-calorie diet.
• Orlistat may also be used for purposes other than those listed in this medication guide.

Stop taking orlistat and seek emergency medical attention if you experience a rare allergic reaction including shortness of breath; closing of your throat; swelling of your lips, tongue, or face; or hives.
• Other, less serious side effects are more likely to occur. Continue to take orlistat and talk to your doctor if you experience
· oily spotting;
· oily or fatty stools; · orange or brown colored oil in your stool;
· gas with discharge, an oily discharge;
· an urgent need to go to the bathroom;
· an inability to control bowel movements, or;
· an increased number of bowel movements.
• The bowel changes listed above are a natural effect of blocking fat and indicate that orlistat is working. They generally occur early in treatment, particularly after meals containing higher amounts of fat than are recommended. These symptoms are usually temporary and lessen or disappear as you continue treatment and keep to your recommended diet of meals containing 30% fat.
• Side effects other than those listed here may also occur. Talk to your doctor about any side effect that seems unusual or that is especially bothersome.

PHENTERMINE
This is the best out of all the pills I have tried. I have taken both the yellow and blue/clear 30mg varieites, which are equally effective. The first four days I was taking it, I barely felt hungry at all. After that, I found it still suppressed my appetite, but obviously my body was becoming more used to it. I alternate the phentermine with other diet pills because it can be addictive, and also very expensive. I found it gave me a dry mouth and insomnia.

Generic Name: phentermine (FEN ter meen)
Brand Names: Adipex-P, Fastin, Ionamin, Obenix, Obephen, Oby-Cap, Oby-Trim, Panshape M, Phentercot, Phentride, Pro-Fast HS, Pro-Fast SA, Pro-Fast SR, Teramine, Zantryl

Phentermine is a sympathomimetic amine, which is similar to an amphetamine. It is also known as an "anorectic" or "anorexigenic" drug. Phentermine stimulates the central nervous system (nerves and brain), which increases your heart rate and blood pressure and decreases your appetite.

Symptoms of a phentermine overdose include restlessness, tremor, rapid breathing, confusion, hallucinations, panic, aggressiveness, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, an irregular heartbeat, and seizures.

TENUATE
This is also a very effective diet pill, though not - in my opinion - quite as good as phentermine. I also found that after each dose (1 pill 3 times a day) I felt quite sick and dizzy for about an hour. I didn't experience any other side effects. Again, it is quite expensive, and I would say that Xenadrine is equally effective, and better value for money.

Generic Name: diethylpropion (dye eth ill PROE pee on)
Brand Names: Tenuate, Tenuate Dospan

Diethylpropion is a sympathomimetic amine, which is similar to an amphetamine. It is also known as an "anorectic" or an "anorexigenic" drug. Diethylpropion stimulates the central nervous system (nerves and brain), which increases your heart rate and blood pressure and decreases your appetite.

Symptoms of a diethylpropion overdose include restlessness, tremor, rapid breathing, confusion, hallucinations, panic, aggressiveness, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, an irregular heartbeat, and seizures.

XENADRINE
I found this to be quite an effective diet pill, and cheaper than Tenuate or Phentermine. For the first few days of taking it, the side effects I experienced were jitters and restlessness. This did wear off after a couple of days as my body became used to it, though.

LIPOLEAN PLUS
This is not an appetite suppressant. It is a fat and carb binder, so basically it's meant to help stop your body absorbing all the fat and carbs in your food. It's an all-natural product and I did find that it works quite well. It's not hugely expensive, either.

DYMA-BURN
This is a thermogenic fat burner, so when you take it, you need to drink more and you'll notice your body temperature goes up. I actually found this quite good when I was really feeling the cold! I did find it quite good as an appetite suppressant, but would probably not buy it again as there are more effective pills out there.

ANOREX
To be perfectly honest, I found this to be a total waste of money. It's more expensive than any of the other pills I've mentioned, and probably the least effective. It didn't really suppress my appetite at all.

Generic Name: phendimetrazine (fen di MEH tra zeen)
Brand Names: Adipost, Anorex-SR, Appecon, Bontril PDM, Bontril Slow-Release, Melfiat, Obezine, Phendiet, Plegine, Prelu-2, Statobex

Phendimetrazine is a sympathomimetic amine, which is similar to an amphetamine. It is also known as an "anorectic" or "anorexigenic" drug. Phendimetrazine stimulates the central nervous system (nerves and brain), which increases your heart rate and blood pressure and decreases your appetite.

Symptoms of a phendimetrazine overdose include restlessness, tremor, rapid breathing, confusion, hallucinations, panic, aggressiveness, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, an irregular heartbeat, and seizures.
