Eating Disorders Pigging out and then forcing yourself to puke it all up. Not eating for periods of time because you thinking that you are too fat. Both of the above scenarios are eating disorders and are very serious. If you or someone you know fit into one of those categories, please continue reading. Bulimia and Anorexia Nervosa are very serious - though they may sound harmless. People who have a low self-esteem, misconceptions about appearance, perfectionism, or a distorted view of sexuality are likely to be a victim of an eating disorder. God says that man looks at the outward appearance while He looks at the heart. (I Sam. 16:7) The media fools people - especially teens - into believe that it's everything to be thin and to look a certain way. I Peter 3:3-4 says "Your beauty shouldn't come from outward appearances... Instead, beauty something internal that cannot be distroyed. Beauty expresses itself in a gentle and quiet manner which God considers precious!" Are you literally dying to be thin? Are you suffering from an eating disorder? If so, you need to seek the help of God and the help of others. Pray for help and strength. Talk to your doctor and he'll help you ensure your physical safety. Talk to a good, Christian friend who can pray with you and help you through it. Verse of the week: "Being confident of this very thing, that He which hath begun a good work in you will be faithful to perform it until the day of Jesus Christ." ~Philipians 1:6
