Gossip!                                                            Read Proverbs 20:19

“I heard that he is cheating on his girlfriend.”

“Yeah, well, I heard that Michelle is pregnant.

              “Really?”

You may or may not have been part of the gossiping crowd. I’m not sure about you, but I sure do know that I have been part of it before. The words may not be true, and in passing it around they may hurt others, but at the moment you may not give it a second thought.

Would you be okay with what you are saying if it went over the loudspeaker? Or how about if the person was standing right behind you listening? Would it embarrass you if the people heard you? Chances are if you wouldn’t want your friend to hear it, than you should be saying it.

Proverbs 20:19 says: “He who goes about as a talebearer reveals secrets; therefore, do not associate with one who flatters with his lips.”

Apply it!

Everyone has been caught gossiping at one time or another. Why not start today to end that and whenever you hear someone else gossiping, try to say something nice about the person they are takling about. It might turn the conversation around and everyone will think good about that person. :)
