Joyful... always?!                                                            Read I Thessalonians 5:16

Okay. The Bible can be a little confusing. All the "thee"’s "thou"’s can kind of make you think, "what?"! But when I read this verse, it was so clear and so obvious. "Be joyful always." I mean, how hard is that to understand? Have you ever seen those rock stars on TV? They have this scowl on their face and look like they just lost their best friend. Nobody probably finds that unusual. But the weird thing is when you go into a Christian book store and see the albums. "Oh, lets see, which CD do we want to buy today? Oh, how about that one with the picture of the band with a scowl on their face? That looks really coo-" WAIT A MINUTE! WAIT JUST A MINUTE! "Be joyful always"??

Sometimes us Christians don’t realize just how simple the commandments God gives us in the Bible. Even I have some "down days". But what we need to focus on is showing the light. How are we supposed to witness to unsaved people and tell them how good it feels to be a Christian when just yesterday they saw us kick the trash can outside because we got a bad grade on our Algebra (yuck!) test? All I’m saying is, well, what the verse says! BE JOYFUL ALWAYS! It can be hard, I’m human, and I know, but I promise, you will have such a better testimony if you learn to just laugh off some of these events instead of scowling!
