Be Like Samuel                                                              Read I Samuel 3:2-10

Samuel was destined even before birth to serve God. His mother, Hannah, want a son very badly and told God that if He'd give her a son then she would give him back to God. So, even before conceived, Samuel was God's servant. He lived in the temple with a man named Eli who was a priest. One night, when both were asleep, God called on Samuel. Samuel though that Eli was who had called his name so he quickly went to see what he wanted. Eli said something like "boy, that wasn't me. You're probably hearing stuff! Go back to bed" this happened three times and finally Eli and Samuel realized that God was the one trying to get Samuel's attention. So Samuel went back to bed again and when he heard the voice again, Samuel listened closely to God's instructions.

We can learn two things from this:

1) We should not hesitation when we are called to do something. Eli didn't really call Samuel's name that night, but Samuel thought so. He wasted no time to go and see what he needed to do. We need to be the same was! When anyone in  authority over us calls to help them, we need to obey right away!

2) When God speaks, we had better listen. God may be telling you to g speak to that girl whos all by herself, or He may want you out of an unhealthy relationship. Whatever the case, If God is speaking to you, listen and obey! Because it will bring you joy and blessings.
