Attack/Defense Attacking is sometimes a last resort for me, besides defending. If you run out of everything like healing items, psynergy djinn (which will most likely never happen) Attack. If you want to reduce damage done by a monster, you should defend, but then that attack may still fall you. Psynergy Besides summons, psynergy would be your best bet against monsters. You only have a limited amount though, so use it wisely. For example, if you are fighting a very strong monster, then you probably want to use it, but if you are fighting a weak monster, like a vermin, you shouldn't use psynergy. When you walk around in places that have monsters, your psynergy will slowly regenerate, this will not work in places like Towns. Djinn If you are going into a boss fight, or are up against tough monsters, you should probably use your djinn. Have them set against bosses so that you can unleash at the beginning of the fight and have them restore so you can use them again or have them their to boost your stats. Healing When you are in battles, you will most likely need to heal. Since Ivan is naturally the fastest member of your group, you might want him to hold all of the healing items so he can use them before the enemy attacks. Then there's Mia. She has a lot of effective healing spells, so it would be a good idea to boost up her agility so she can atleast attack second.
Status Ailments Cursed: Being cursed is very annoying. If you get a new item like a Demon Axe, check if it's cursed first. When an item is cursed, it will prevent you from attacking and is unremovable unless you go to a sanctum. If you wear the item called the Cleric's Ring, the curse affect won't be on you at all. Delusion: When you are in delusion, you will most likely miss the enemy on attacking it. Delusion will wear off after a few turns though, and then you can attack normally again. Evil Spirit: When an evil spirit grips you, you lose damage after some turns. To get it removed, you have to either go to a sanctum or faint. Poison: When you are poisoned, you will lose a chunk of your health every time you attack. You can get rid of this by using psynergy or an antidote. Sleep: When you fall asleep, you cannot attack for a certain amount of turns. This wears off after about 5 turns. It will also wair off after the battle. Stun: This is similar to sleep, you cannot attack, but it will last for about 5 turns and also go away after the battle. |
