Conditions that Mimic Meniere's

Autoimmune Inner Ear Disease - an inflammatory condition of the inner ear. It occurs when the body's immune system attacks cells in the inner ear that are mistaken for a virus or bacteria.

Perilymph Fistula - a small hole in a membrane that separates the middle ear from the inner ear. 

Acoustic Neuroma - a benign tumor, usually very small, on the 8th cranial (auditory & vestibular) nerve. 

Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo - vertigo caused by dislodged calcium carbonate crystals in the inner ear.

Multiple Sclerosis - a chronic, often disabling, disease of the central nervous system. Symptoms may be mild, such as numbness in the limbs, or severe—paralysis or loss of vision.

Otosclerosis - calcium deposits on inner ear bones. 

Mal de debarquement - landsickness following a sea cruise.

Labyrinthitis, Vestibular Neuritis, & Neuronitis - infections of the inner ear

Syphilis - a complex sexually transmitted disease (STD) caused by the bacterium Treponema pallidum. It has often been called "the great imitator" because so many of the signs and symptoms are indistinguishable from those of other diseases.

Lyme Disease - a serious bacterial infection caused by a tick bite and affects humans and animals.
